Not losing interest or being able to find a good stopping place because it just kept drawing me in without yawn breaks.
The near end...for spoiler purposes, I'll leave it at that.
Yes! I split it in two days though.
One of the best YA books I've ever read/listened to. I am eager to see where this series goes! Definitely not the same take on other common post-apocalyptic storylines. Refreshing in that sense and just very well written and performed!

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to. I'm generally not a huge fan of apocalyptic scenarios, and it definitely felt like a young adult book, but it really kept me engaged. I enjoyed the theme of the Tarot, the spunk of the heroine, the twisty storyline and the focus on Cajun culture via the hero. This was also a particularly good book to listen to on audio -- I have no idea how accurate narrator Emma Galvin's Cajun accent is, but it was certainly sexy and added a lot to Jackson's character. The book ended on a pretty hefty cliffhanger, so I'll probably check out the next book in the series when it comes out.
I'm a 25 year old mum to my beautiful nearly 2 yr old daughter and i LOVE books , both reading and listening to them :D
yes i would! its differently one of those books that make you wanna listen again , to go back on the story and listen again and learn more about all the characters
hmm hard to say there where many for me but i love to romance between Evie and jack :D
no don't think i have but there both great !
it made me laught and pulled at my heart strings and loved the secpence
great listen !! much have in your library , just suck most of all that we have to wait till October for book 2 :'(
YES IT IS THE BEST YA SERIES I HAVE EVER READ AND ITS ONLY BOOK 1
EVERY MOMENT WITH JACKSON
NO, BUT I HAVE TO SAY EMMA GALVIN IS NOW MY FAVORITE FEMALE NARRATOR!!!
* SPOILER* I CRIED WHEN SHE HAD TO SAY GOODBYE TO HER MOTHER!!!
LOVE IT AND NOW I AM SOOO IMPATIENT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!
I enjoy reading series and very rarely read stand alone series. I mostly read romance and sci-fi & fantasy.
This was such a good book! It had me on the edge of my seat. I kept telling myself that I wouldn't read the whole book in one sitting but I did it was that good.
Even though at times you want to smack Jackson for being such an idiot you have to admire his effort. Likewise Evie too needs a good smack up side the head. the two of them need to learn to communicate, but you see both of them grow and learn how to trust each other.
When I first saw that there was going to be two narrators I was more than a little skeptical. But after listening to both of them preform I was a skeptic no longer. Kresley Cole has out done her self in this new series. It was everything I had hoped for and then some.
The ending was the best part. The last few chapters you had no idea what was going to happen. It is one of those series that you are impatient for the next book to come out to answer all of your questions and find out what happens next.
I have gone back and reread the whole book and it gets better with every read. Though the action and bulk of the story line doesn't start until the second part of the book it is still a good read. I would most defiantly suggest this series to my friends and encourage others to read this book.
I'm not entirely sure I can wait until October for the second installment of the series to come out.
Love anything about shifters and lycanthropy. Paranormal romance is my thing! best escape and entertainment I can imagine! :]
I don't read, i only listen.... and i very much enjoyed this audio book!!
I really like to get to know the characters and Kresley Cole is the best at character developement! I fell in love with Evie and Jack!!
Evie was performed brilliantly!! Jack was quite good too .... They were all done well and i could tell who was talking and distinguish their characters perfectly!
at the end... i know she needed to leave us hanging... but i don't like how it went down with Jack and Evie...
I am quite fond of Kresley Cole as an author and am addicted to her adult series which is narrated by Robert Petkoff.... (can't go wrong there!) ... I do listen to some YA books and this one was very good for the genre. I do prefer a bit more adult situations... but she managed to get in some real teenage angst and some discovery as well... which is nice... i like to have the characters evolve during a story... which they all did!!
I will definitly purchase the second installment in this series when it becomes available!!
Big fan of previous Cole books, however I was tentative to spend the bucks on a YA novel. Love the sizzle & steaminess of the Immortal Series, totally erotic. It worried me the author's departure into the Young Adult rating would kill the magic so to speak. However, the attraction & anticipation of the characters is well-placed and relatable. Poison Princess kick starts pretty quickly, and constantly has interesting new developments. Thanks to the 'Cajun', 'bad boy' hunk Jackson... this dystopian world is one any gal would gladly inhabit. Eve is young, beautiful, frustrating, naive' and faceted with a depth that other YA novels lacked. The narration was good but in the beginning chapters I was disappointed and didn't like the way Jackson's voice was portrayed by the narrator. However, it grew on me but that is probably a bigger credit to the author!
I really, really liked how the whole story came together so neatly in the end. It was great and I can't wait for the next one!
Loved Jackson Deveaux. There's something really hot about that Cajun.
If this book isn't made into a movie, we are completely missing out!
I can't wait for the next one! Totally worth the credit. Totally worth the time. Totally worth all the stuff I didn't do because I just could not stop listening!
I am a writer seeking out the very best love stories to read. Especially if they have lots of surprises.
A bit slow to start but great ending. Arthur was way to creepy :S I was listening to his lines right before bed and had trouble going to sleep. I don't think i could re-listen to it.
