Wish I knew one.
Her humor & how she felt about her life experiences.
Everyone's lucky Penny
Thoroughly enjoy listening to this book...sorry it is over.
Fan of mostly non-fiction, mostly biographies, autobiographies and histories.
This is a real treat.Thoroughly enjoyable. Well-written, good stories, genuine. Some funny, some poignant, an engaging self portrait of an interesting, clever, caring human being who has entertained us in many ways for many years. And this is one of those memoirs that's enhanced because it's read, and read well, by its author. Her inflections add to the humorous story-telling, but her emotional inflections in describing family events also connect to the listener in a universally human way.
The numerous famous people that the author had crossed paths with as a child and young woman before she entered the entertainment world of acting and directing.
It made me laugh and cry.
Yes, because it's in Penny's own voice, Bronx accent and all, giving the best telling of her memories as you're going to get and enjoy!
This book was very entertaining, as much as I have always liked Penny Marshall, I like her even more after reading this book.
The story of her relationship with "Artie" Garfunkel an the stories of how her first movies, Jumping Jack Flash and Big came about were fascinating.
Just an overall good book. If you like entertainment biographies, you will love this book.
Penny Marshall is a hoot. Her antics combined with her dry delivery kept me laughing non-stop.
Her narration is hilarious because her accent and her voice are so unique. But also, whenever an actor narrates their OWN story there are elements that come to life that just aren't there when somebody else tells it. Her description of her parents and siblings are really great and insightful, and her childhood and experiences through college and in Hollywood of course are all really interesting to hear about. She's known so many famous people over the years, you can't help but love hearing about her interactions with them all and her perspective on everyone.
The book is about her, so of course I like her the best.
No. Typically I look for longer books since I have a long commute to work and need something to pass the time.
If you don't know who Penny Marshall is, this probably is not the book for you.
The fact that Penny Marshall is reading what she wrote She is great.
The honesty and fun that Penny Marshall presents in her story
Again the honest and fun that she has You feel like you know her as a sister.
Yes I enjoyed every minute.
I would recommend this book to any one If you don't enjoy this book something is wrong
If you love listening to Penny Marshall talk, because just the sound of her voice is awesome, then you will love love love this book. It's hours of uninterrupted thick New York accent on top of hillarious stories.
There is no sticky sweet glaze on this pastry; it is just pure treat from the first word, but honest and real. Her pragmatic approach to telling the truth about herself, her family, and the illusive Hollywood Scene is refreshing and funny!
Just getting to listen to her talk for hours was awesome!!
Likes Penny Marshall reading it
I liked all the characters in the story that I read about in the newspapers and saw on tv.
Love her voice.
When she talked about getting an abortion.
Story moved along very well and was always interesting.
