Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
Yes, I just re listened as the first time was rushed.
Sandra Brown always has a twist, but you must watch for it to get the full enjoyment
Dent our hero, what sass!
I did the first time and missed many of the clues. I just re listened and really enjoyed it much better.
Yes I would recommend it. The story was good and you get a few ideas of the "who dunnit" but you don't have any solid evidence until the end. I found myself going back and forth between 3 characters.
The writing at some points got kind of cheesy and I thought Dent was overly persistent and cannot imagine many if any guys being that persistent.
An example of cheesy:
Dent: That looks good on you.
Bellamy: Your shirt?
Dent: No debauchery.
I have read many of Brown's books because the plots are intriguing any vary. Too many writers find one formula and the books are repetitive. Her use of the language and research into settings and details are informative. However, she misses being really good by having every hero a man whose eats, thinks, and dreams lustfully and tries to make him acceptable because he tells women they are only valuable to satisfied him then bye. Enter the heroine for whom he has real feelings and he "changes" wanting to prove this great love by having sex at every opportunity (no condums). I t has reached the point I fast forward through most of these - on the table, the floor, the car, the stairs, the fields, etc. They are well written, but
put too many of the sex encounters and it distracts the reader from the story and suspense. Having some is spice, too many and it is almost trash. But I still read some for the plot s.
I enjoyed this book. As alway, Sandra Brown has created an entertaining and sexy story.
I enjoyed all of the book.
First book I read of Sandra Brown's was Mean Streak, which was very good. This book continues that opinion, well written, fast paced thriller. Never figured out who the killer was until the end. Will continue to read Sandra Brown.
I have yet to read/listen a Sandra Brown book that I didn't love. She is the master of plot twists.
I highly recommend this book. It is well worth the credit.
I couldn't warm up to any of the characters . The end didn't make sense and the relationships were unpleasant. The love relationship was strained and negative with lots of negativity. I didn't like this book!
