In case any of you were wondering if you could skip book three and go straight to this one: the answer is yes. I still haven't read book three, but the flow from book two to this one was just fine. Although there were references to "copper lake" numerous times, it didn't feel like that particular side-story was necessary to understand what was happening here. Monster Hunter: Legion continues with the characters we know and love from before, told from the same point of view, read by the same guy - in short, if you've enjoyed the previous books, you'll like this one too!
Too many disparate monsters for my liking. I really enjoyed Grimnoir Chronicles and read this because it is the same author. But there are too many monsters in this for me. Perhaps it's because I started with book 4 in the series?
Too many monsters that were fought in the same old way.
The performance was decent, although there was a cadence that started to annoy me.
Monsters. Less monsters so there is more tension when they show up.
When you can't imagine the situation getting any worse the author could and that made me happy.
Earl - only because I think his accent sound like mine. haha
Anything with Franks in it. He always seems like he is on the edge of actually being a friend to Pit or blowing his head off.
Well I think that is an awfully personal question. I laughed a lot. Did I cry - well that is none of your business ;)
Enjoy the adventure
The monster featured in this book is based on the creature that waits for you under your bed. But this version was enhanced by government scientists to be a weapon of mass destruction. Of course the monster has escaped and is terrorizing the guests at a large Las Vegas casino. Fortunately, there is a monster hunter convention at the hotel and the attendees get a little unplanned sport. Hotel rooms are trashed, things are shot and large explosives are detonated indoors.
This book is intended for fun and delivers action, humor and some tense moments. I have listened to book 2 and now book 4 of the series. Both were great selections from Audible.
The plot twist that were all through the book!
To the first book in the MHI series. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
When the Hotel they were at disapered into that other dimension.
Monsters are real!
I highly recommend the series, it is unique. Definitely well thought out
I'm a fan of fantasy both epic and contemporary, I cant get enough of it!
The Nochmar. He is an epic Villain.
When Edward kills the Alp with a throwing knife.
Everything. He gives a great performance.
When Owen leaves Jason Lococo to the demons.
This book just didn't do it for me. I thought the plot line of this one was a little weak to be honest. I have liked every other book in the series and the grimnoir chronicles is an amazing series, but I just could not wait for this book to be over. I feel I have a vested interest in this series, and that is honestly the only reason why I finished. I felt like this was just a filler book to get you to the next part of the series, and really didn't add a lot for me. The action is cool as always, and I like the characters, hence why I gave the book 3 stars. I wish I could say something more than just I was underwhelmed, but that would be the word I use to describe this book.
Books, the best travel accessory - EVER!
So, there I was, really enjoying this series when the writer insisted on giving me the Fox News bites of the world. Darn it!! I just wanted some shot-it-up-mind-numbing fun in a safe non-drink or think way and the constant Obama-bashing-come-get-my-gun-from-my-rotting-corpse-BS effn killed it. If I have to get the bites, I'm out. Enjoyed the series, and I love a good debate, but the didactic nature of this is a NOGO for me. If that does not deter you, you'll abosolutely love the book. As always the narrator is perfect.
If you are looking for a fun guy read this in it. Just pick it up read and go for a ride. No deep thinking, nothing to analyze just relax and follow along.
