When I have time I like the written word. Hearing the books with Susan Ericksen reading feels like Dallas is telling the story.
I like that Dallas is growing through her past just enough so that she can grow more in the next story.
I have listened to 5 of Dallas' stories with Susan Ericksen. I enjoy listening to her.
When Dallas punched Stella in her dream.
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
I love this series. Eve Dallas is such a strong leading character but she has many problems. The way she interacts with the other main characters gives so much depth to the character of Eve Dallas. I love Peabody too. It's time for her to marry her sweetie. I hope that happens real soon.
being able to listen to it through my car speakers by my cell phone
The complete story kept me on " pins & needles "
Her delivery was great
I don't really know I would have to think about this for a while
I love all of J. D . Robb's books as well as Nora Roberts
Thanks so much
Hearing the accents of the reader; how they were alike and different from what I had imagined.
How the reader brought each character to life.
J.D. Robb's books are meant to be read out loud, and Susan Ericksen is a fabulous narrator. Her interpretation of the "In Death" series is so believable that I find I hear her voices in my head when I read the actual books! That said, Delusion in Death is a very strong entry in the series. Readers/listeners new to the series should get a feel for the characters very quickly; Long-time listeners will feel like they're settling in with old friends. The storyline is strong, and the opening to this particular story is dark.
Summerset, Roarke's father-figure and live-in butler, has always been kind of a mystery, but we get inside his head in this book as he relives some scary moments of the Urban Wars that are running parallel to the mass homicide that opens the story.
She really brings these characters to life! It's easy to forget there is only one person reading the story. Her voices are so real that I can hear them in my head even when I'm reading the paper version of the book.
Yes! It was really hard to put away.
yes i have been a jd robb for 8 year and have recommend her to every friend i have. i tell them to read the first charpter if the can put it down i will not say another word about it. so far i win.. a great book is like a friend so i keep the around thank you for the experince.
it's the relationship between roark and eve and her friend i want the best for them but their will alway be bad guys and it's nice to know that they will be going up against the best.. that each victims matter to someone.
she bring them to life like a movie
yes to all
what next and how long will it take to finish it.
I haven't read the print version.
Roarke, as usual. For all the right reasons.
I was really put off by some aspects of Ms. Ericksen's performance. The voices she used for both Peabody and Capt. Whitney were extremely annoying. Peabody is a sweet, smart, character and Eriksen's voice made her seem like a half-wit. Whitney sounded more like a truck driver than an experienced, intelligent, officer of the law.
Also, the character's name is PeaBODY, not Pee-Buddy!
Overall, I liked the story line. It wraps up the loose ends of the last book, puts LT. Dallas back on her feet. Now I hope Ms. Robb continues to develop some of the other characters as well.
Hearing the narrator read in different voices makes the story come to life. I can't wait to ride in the car so I can listen.
I love the audio editions because I travel so much. Although I do have to admit that I occasionally listen to them when I'm not traveling - and this was one. Since I listen to the unabridged versions, it's the same as reading the book, and the different actors are portrayed wonderfully by Susan.
I would compare this to other "in Death" books. It's a series that I love.
There were several new characters in this book and she does a great job with the voices.
This book was so good, I listened to it when I wasn't travelling - but because I couldn't put it down.
Yes, I usually like this book and series
Not sure..I don't know why I did not enjoy this book as much as the others.
