Spectacular Eve Dallas!
It's not just this story, it is about reconnecting with all your favorite characters in the whole series. Just like the character Eve, I have adopted them all like a second family. Whenever I see a new In Death book come out I purchase it immediately, no questions asked because I know I will love it.
Susan is Eve, ..and Roarke,.. and Peabody,.. and McNab.. and Mavis,.. and Bella. If she did no other series of books, I would say she was one of the best if not the best narrator's I have ever listened to.
Bad Asses Beware in 2565, Eve Dallas and company is watching!...and waiting.
When is the next novel scheduled to come out?
After reading so many good reviews of this story, I decided to give it a shot. The story was sort of interesting, with a fresh kind of idea, but the narration was just grating and over the top. Now, I understand that the emotions of the characters were supposed to be over the top, because of the circumstances, but the screeching, screaming, abrasive way that their words were delivered left me unable to finish the book, even after turning the volume down and preparing myself for another incident to occur. I JUST COULDN'T TAKE IT!!!!!!! (as Ericksen would have stated it- )
Susan Ericksen. I love the characters that inhabit each of the "In Death" novels, and she brings them to life for me.
The description of the carnage created by the drug let loose really made me care about catching the culprit.
It's like listening to a play. She is my favorite narrator. She makes each character so individual and unique. Sometimes I re-listen to stories just to hear Roarke's Irish accent. She also gives pathos and emotion to scenes that make me care just a little bit more. She truly is a consummate artist and a very gifted storyteller.
I love this series. Granted, some books have been more powerful for me than others, but overall, I love Eve and Roarke and those who inhabit their lives. They feel like friends and very real.
No, because I had to fast forward through parts.
The criminal interegation.
After I've been through most of the series, I have no patience for the time spent
rehashing her terrible childhood.
Reading has always been my guilty pleasure. I would take stacks of books from the library. Now I listen to Audible.
I am addicted to this series, Robb's writing and Ericksen's narration.
This one was a little different and more complex, but it is always fascinating to listen to Dallas et al figure it out. Dallas' and Roarke's voices were a little different but still perfect for the characters. I miss McNabb, he is always fun to listen to.
I can't wait for the next one.
I just LOVE Dallas, Rourke and Peabody!
Rourke, I love his accent and his care and devotion to Dallas!
I love all of the In Death series!
I like everything Nora Roberts, Janet Evanovich, Carly Phillips, Catherine Coulter and Jean Auel
Yes, Susan Ericksen brings the story to life. When I hear Dallas and Peabody, I see them in my mines eye and I know them like old friends.
It's hard to choose just one favorite character, because they all add up to make the whole story line great. I love Dallas' character, but I have to say, Peabody is my favorite. She is loyal, funny and agood team player.
Ms. Ericksen brings each character to life. she gives Dallas'sharp mine and Peabody's smart mouth a very believable face.
This book, like all of Nora Roberts'books, was a real page turner. You just cann't put it down until you know what happens next.
Great story line with an extra twist at the end... not my favorite, but very close to the top! I enjoyed how she worked in the resolution of the "Divided In Death" Homeland character.
I liked the new character Agent Tinsley, who is extremely capable, collected, and ethical - giving me hope that not all of Homeland Security is corrupted. I hope she will appear again in another story.
I enjoy her different voices for characters, excellent reading, and pacing.
I love to read both fiction and non-fiction, I love series books that build by adding more characters and am always sorry when they end.
I love the characters and it is hard to believe that I have listened to the entire series. Love the development of the characters and have recommended it to many friends! It is entertaining.
The Dallas/Rourke connection - it is not protrayed as a complicated relationship that they make work.
I love her delivery and would be greatly disappointed to have anyone else read this series! She brings the characters to life!
No - I actually like to take breaks and then reflect back on the story.
I listen mostly in the car, and don't even have a long commute - or I listen on my lunch break - am amazed at how many books I am able to read and enjoy! I love auidbe!
Susan Ericksen makes the characters come alive! It is amazing how many voices she can do. No detail goes unnoticed by Susan Ericksen, right down to Roarke's accent.
I felt that in the last two books Eve had become a little weaker than she was before. In this book she is back in full force. A force to be reckoned with!
I have to say I just love the voice of Roarke. If ever they put J. D. Robb's books into a movie or series I would have trouble hearing any voice but the one Ms. Ericksen has created!
Yes! I usually finish all of J. D. Robb's book in one, no more than two days. I constantly walk around all day with my Ipod on. Which causes me to constantly look for new authors!
The In Death books should really be listened to from the first on up in the series although you can follow along with any book you decide to listen to. You get a better idea of the characters' dynamics if you start with the first and work your way up. Wonderful series. J. D. Robb is a very fast writer compared to most but I wish she would write a little faster so I don't have to look for new authors.
Thank you Ms. Robb/Roberts of the hours of pure entertainment you have given to the world of readers/listeners.
