Reacher. I mean, he is awesome.
His character. He has maintained that character perfectly through all of the books.
Yes. All of Lee Child's books are that way and nearly every book that Dick Hill has narrated.
Dick Hill is letting Reacher's vocal traits carry over to all of the other characters. So,while I really like his Reacher characterization; I don't like it when that characterization is also the various male and female FBI agents. And even the bad guys. The story was not QUITE as good as the others. It was good, don't get me wrong, but the end was a Little bit of a disappointment to me. I still strongly recommend the book and the narrator.
Not the Best of lee Child...still Reacher is Reacher
The Plot was very hard to follow
Ive listened to dozens...he is one of the best
Look for the net Vince Flyn thriller...
Can't stop listening.
All Lee Child Books. Love them all.
What part of Tom Cruise and Jack Reacher's 6' 5" frame match up? Please???
"Life is too short to be taken seriously." Oscar Wilde
I enjoy the way Dick HIll reads, but this story just kept dragging on, and on. In the end I was left feeling - really, that's it?
I have listened and/or read all of Jack Reacher books and found this one to be the most disappointing. The ending was a bit abrupt and convoluted.
Gang Mills Kathy
Probably, because I'm a great fan of the Reacher novels.
THe characters - their strength, their foibles.
Not so much and I found his voice a little off-putting.
I missed Jack Reacher keeping time in his head and was surprised it wasn't part of the story. The plot was a little convoluted. I wondered if Lee Child really wrote this book. It didn't seem up to par.
A summary of the premise for this book sounds a bit of a turn-off. Much of it occurs while JR rides in a car with three people, one of whom is essentially mute and the two others not chatty. However, the inner psychology of the work is sufficiently compelling to make this book not only different but quite good.
As previous reviewers have noted, a large part of the problem of this book is the narrator's rendition of Reacher with a broken nose. On top of that, the plot is boring. I listened until I only had two hours of the book left, and I couldn't take it anymore. I didn't care what happened to the characters...even after 12 hours of time invested into their story. The FBI agents were caricatures of bumbling, inept police. Leave it to Reacher to step into the gap--except 12 hours into the book, he still hadn't. I've loved this series, but this book is terrible. Save your money and get something else.
This was a great book. You would think after 16 books, the 17th would be not so great, but it was very good.
Even though I won't see the Jack Reacher movie because of the ridiculous casting of Tom Cruise as Reacher, I will continue reading Lee Child. I have heard Lee had nothing to do with casting someone 5'6 150 pounds to play a man who is 6'5" 250 pounds and I really hope that is the case. We have to save Jack Reacher and boycott the film.
