I look forward and enjoy Reacher books- this one started slow and took a longer than usual time to get interesting.
The ending had better potential than was displayed.
Dick Hill Rocks- always enjoy his reading style.
It passed the time. Same format as the rest. Good thing jack reacher was there . About my fourth in the series , I enjoy them to past the time.
No over a weeks time
I love this series and Dick Hill is the perfect reader for this series. I
While I did not like the reader using the "nasal" sound it did represent Reacher's nose.
The plot was great - did not know what to expect.
The nasal sound from Reacher - did not like it.
Did not like the FBI agent being shot.
Good book - hope Lee Child keeps writing about Reacher/
I never read any of the printed Jack Reacher books. Love the performance of Dick Hill so I'm not tempted.
He is a great narrator. I can't imagine Reacher stories narrated by anyone else.
Not your typical action packed Reacher story. The story was long winded with little substance. I like Dick Hill but his nasally voice through the entire book was annoying an unnecessary. Child gave him an opportunity to stop but Dick missed it. This is the first Reacher book I have not liked. Heard them all. .
Utopia by Lincoln Child
Yes, I like his performances.
Disappointment may be too generous.
Typical Jack Reacher
A touch fantastic
I thought his rendition of different voices was pretty mediocre, particularly female voices.
An enjoyable read. Maybe I'm just getting burned out on Reacher.
Yes, I will certainly try another book by Lee Child. I would rather not listen to Dick Hill again. I was very disappointed in this book and the narrator. I thought the story was far too slow and at times appeared to be (no pun intended) "reaching" to move the story along. Mr. Childs seemed to be using all kinds of numbers (i.e.- statistics, measurements, etc.) to fill in the narrative. It got distracting after a while. The ending was a little too far fetched for me, as well. Overall, this was a big disappointment and I had to force myself to hang in there and finish it.
I did not care for it, myself. It was too far fetched for my taste.
After 17 books, Lee, Dick and I are on a first name basis: Jack Reacher. Those three names are synonymous with a great read. Credits for another good book go first to Lee Child for his writing skills. Second to Dick Hill for his excellent narration and to Audible for giving all of us access to another great "page turner".
Terrible dialog; poor plot
I have read all Lee Child and they keep getting worst, same thing happened with Ludlum; they start writing for money after the character runs out of steam.
He did not have much to work with; kudos for the different voices.
Scrap it and start over with better plot. Jack as a character is a cardboard copy of earlier versions.
I am finished with Lee Child; every recent book is worse than the previous one - again same phenomena with Ludlum. The early stories are clever and fresh; it degenerates into producing a title every year in hopes of a cover/author driven purchase.
Get a new character like Burke or Sanford or retire.
