I have a PhD in American Literature but my love affair with romance novels on audible is going strong.
Obviously following the fairy tale of the ugly duckling turned swan, an "ugly duckling" falls in love with a handsome Duke-to-be and marries him, only to discover that he apparently only married her to gain her dowry. Countess Theo develops a makeover style that is fabulously successful at the same time she "banishes" her treacherous husband from the land, and he becomes a pirate and privateer. The story involves some farfetched escapades and resolutions (which are appropriate for a fairy tale), but if you read this for no other reason, read it for the hilarious bathtub scene of attempted reconciliation between the couple after a 7 year separation.
That he loved her without knowing till it was too late
Wonderfully put together
The audiobook was way better then the book . Susan Duerden gave the characters New life and I could visualize each and every scene . If it wasn't for her Awsome narration I would this was just an other book to pass time
New to the audiobook thing, but I like it! I'm a huge Stephen King fan... Along with the spy/military type books by Brad Thor, Vince Flynn
Fun, witty, and a great old fashion tale made anew. I have resently just started listening to Eloisa James and have quickly become a fan of her work. Getting ready to start another of her series.
