First book was really good. This one was a let down. I might ask audible for a refund. Just a silly story about a kid being kidnapped. Thought this series was going to be about protomolecule and big thing brewing on Venus. But no. Just an excuse to add more books to a series. Very disappointed.

not sure why. but I love this series. probably because the characters are realistic with believable feelings and fears and reactions even if the situation is not realistic at all. actually, at the core the problems are caused by ego and greed which is very realistic.
Since I like good sci-fi, this book is up there on the heels of Leviathan Wakes.
Political intrigue along with the sciencey stuff made a great combination.
The reader was a major asset for the presenation of the story, adding personality to make it even more interesting without taking attention away from the story. Great pacing. Hope he continues with the series.
Story line had me thinking about it continually as to when to find time to listen more - until it was done. Now I need Book 3.
The romance scenes were a bit corny - not the authors' strong point, but the connection between Naomi and Holden was well done aside from the few sappy doe eyes scenes.
