this is the best of the books i can not wait till the next one. come on August
" nine is anything if not consistent"
John aka 4 gaining the legacy of healing
The Story is fantastic, and anybody whose read the Lorien Books can tell you that. Friends coming together against all odds to battle evil and all that wonderful stuff. The Problem with this purchase is that the book is narrated by several people. But they don't separate the voices by character. Whoever's narrating (And they change that by the character's perspective) does all the voices. Which is fine, until the end where a different person starts doing 4's or 9's voice and it's completely different from the rest of the book. Very aggravating.
Combine it with the previous book and next book so and condense them
The main character
Yes, and it does, several most likely because the series is a bit of a cash grab
Decent clean book (some mild exclatives at times), but really short and the series is looking like it's going to be a big cash grab.
I listen to books while running and walking my dog so on average about an hour day and like books that have a good pace to them.
slow building story
This book merged several story lines that have been building for a while. At the same time it kept some things unresolved nicely.
Generally, I found the narration flat and characters were either stereotypically (i.e. number nine as a surf "dude") portrayed or hard to distinguish from one another.
Overall I enjoyed the story but at times i found the plot predictable and felt it was moving a little slowly. I have to agree with some of the other reviews i have read that the radio transmissions were somewhat pointless and added very little to the story that we did not already know.
The author was was addequite and the naration was fine
it was what I expected from the other audio books.
It's getting one, because the story isn't done.
Your Audio format is very bad.
I had heard good things for a long time, and subscribed as a new user and got a free book, that was awesome. However, your format does not work with Linux. I had to spend 2 hours to find a work around to get it to work all of which included installing a windows VM. on a computer with low ram this is not ideal.
I then came up with the idea of installing Android onto a VM and listened with your Android application.
needless to say, it is not worth using. Too much trouble.
Please work on a better audio format for people who use other Operatin systems aside from Windows, or Mac.
Linux, and FreeBSD users do Exist, please keep that in mind.
All of it. Each number was quite interesting & some of their powers really, really cool.
Number 8, he is just a really playful & endearing character.
All of it
It's a must listen
The book is good for the most part. Just an ending that is disappointing. The series would be much better without the cursing.
Yes, I'd recommend this audiobook. We were awaiting the release of this book. Get the others in the series if you haven't already.
My son loves number 9. My favorite is 6. Probably the gender thing. We both like to see bravery but also some uniqueness in a hero.
There were actually 3 narrators. My husband and son and I thought 2 were good but that the other sounded odd in some characters.
The movie was pretty good, near to the book.
The story line is solid, the characters are complex and interesting, and the performance was top notch. The plot is a new twist on the old theme of aliens taking over the earth, but in this version, the heroes/heroines are also aliens with super-powers who team up with humans to save Earth. The good aliens embody the best qualities of humans (and also some of our faults) and are easy to identify with. The histories of the aliens' planets of origin provides a plausible back story. The addition of a loyal shape-shifting companion that resembles a lovable beagle (when he's not fighting alien monsters) is a nice touch. The use of two readers (one male and one female) really made this audio book stand out for me, as even the best performers are rarely able to produce a convincing voice for a character of the opposite sex. The readers here are well able to perform several characters each, producing distinctive voices for each character. The imagery is vivid and the action scenes keep the listener on the edge of their seat. Listening to this performance was like being there. I plan to get the earlier audio books in the series.
Loved this story and can't wait for the next installment from Pittacus Lore.
A 12 year old who hasn't yet had their parents explain to them how people or reality really interact.
I liked the first book. Because of the potential. But instead of utilizing that potential it seems that with every next step the bar is lowered.
Very doubtful. I'm not sure if she harmed the story with her performance, or because she was put in a position of having nothing to work with... but this just gets more awful. Not many books do I find that every time I push pause to do something else do I wish I had that time back.
Waste of time and potential.
