This is a great listen.
The entire story was memorable. If you like historical fiction then reading or listening to a Philippa Gregory novel is a must! Her extinsive research and commitment to be true to the past coupled with her story telling is a cosmic match. You will not be able to stop listening.
She got the characters spon on.
I really enjoyed this book, the series is terrific. You can't go wrong with Philippa Gregory and Bianca Amato!!!!
I would recommend it to my friends and family and I have done it already. I love Philippa Gregory books and although she has been criticised by historians I love her way of storytelling and the orientation for detail.
As I listened to The other Boleyn girl before this audiobook, I can compare it to it. But the story of Anne Boley is more known than the one of Anne Neville
I love Bianca Amato. She is amazing narrator. I love her english accent a the modulation of her voice.
It was not only a moment, it was the realization, that being a queen is not as romantic as it seems...it is very stressful, it requires responsibility, courage, and it comes with loneliness, distrust and fear....
What a great listen. I'm a Philipa Gregory fan and absolutely loved this audiobook!!!!
I'm still listening. Nearly finished. I listen only when I'm walking and this story and the narrator are so riveting that I find myself standing still, in place, with my hand over my mouth. At some points I have been afraid to go on fearing what may have befallen Anne. Just sooo good!
all of them. She does such masterful job of distinguishing characters. I know who is speaking immediately and it's so subtle. Such a joy to listen t, storytelling is fabulous with her as the reader.
I don't want ti to end. There are too many plauisible, probable and some quite sad endings that could be. Suspense!!!!!
I had read The White Queen which was set in the same time but from the opposite perspective so it was intriguing and not repetitive. Great narrator as usual.
Any other by Philippa Gregory.
Great with changing the voices - fantastic narrator.
Not really because I wanted it to last.
Looking forward to Philippa Gregory's next book already!
There were so many, but when Anne was assisting with her sisters first labor...When Anne fell in love with Richard and he came to her rescue...
I love the style that Philippa Gregory writes her books. The first person really makes you feel what the characters could have felt. It is such a different culture than what we have today, she makes it easy to escape into the story of Anne. All the multiple struggles she feels seem so real. Love Bianca's narration also. She identifies the different characters so well you think its really a man speaking. Even if you are not interested in History I think listeners would still enjoy. Even with many factual situations going on it easy to follow. Highly recommended to anyone who likes a good story! (even though this is based on Anne's real life)
It was told in the eyes of a child
It was So good from beginning to end can hardly wait for her next book
Absolutely. A tale of such magnitude and complexity requires more than one listen to absorb all of the nuances that were probably missed the first two or three times.
I thoroughly enjoyed the narration and the descriptiveness of the story.
My favorite character was the younger daughter.
I did not wish to listen to it all in one sitting because of its complexity, which required that I allow some marination time in my brain.
Phillippa Gregory is one of the greats when it comes to writing historical fiction, and her books are well suited to the audio format. This is the second Gregory audiobook that I have heard performed by Bianca Amato (among a cast of characters), and she was an excellent choice.
Ms. Gregory tells a fascinating story about an important moment in history using the voices of several amazing women.
That it tells the story of Richard the thirds wife in which she is presented as a whole woman, not the dishrag presented by history.
She gives life to many of her characters. She helps keep you engaged in the story
Anne Neville, the forgotten Queen
Can't wait for Princess Elizabeth of York to weigh in!
