No...just did not get sucked in...
I don't really know...it just missed the special something that makes me want to go in that book's "world".
She made it so the words were not so much "lost in translation".
I wasn't sure about this book after reading 50 shades; but i was pleasantly surprized. It was cute & fun
Yes, it has a interesting twist .. Or two.
The poem reading near the end.
Loved the the last scene!
This book reminded me of "Fifty Shades of Grey" the only difference is that it didn't have that many erotic scenes in it. But it was dam good... I just love these kinds of books.
They Were all my favorite because with out them all playing a role this story wouldn't be a good one... SO ALL WERE MY FAVORITE.
At first I had to get used to her voice because I was used to another narrators voice, but when the story went on she did a wonderful job. She differentiated all of the charactors!
it did make me laugh at some points but it didn't make me cry.....
THIS BOOK IS A GOOD BOOK, IF YOU LIKE ROMANCE WITH A LITTLE OF EROTIC PLEASURE THEN THIS IS A GOOD BOOK TO READ.
OK, first of all I'm not usually hard on books. But I just have to review this one.
I bought it because: a) nice romantic cover
b) plot with potential
c) 3 to 4 stars
d) I like fun chick lit. (M. Jhonson, S. Manning, M. Harper. S. Kinsella etc).
What I've got was an impossible cliche story, with totally unreal characters, with not only words but sentences repeated throughout the book, and scenes that intended to be funny and only left me with an odd feeling of shame for someone else....Many times I though of not finishing but did it because I wanted to be fair and maybe later on it would get better but it never did.
The narrator is ok, her voice is clear, nice, and almost always does the different voices, The performance itself is not good but then again, she doesn't have a great material to work with.
typical fanciful romance. Billionaire falls for childhood friend. Makes mistakes gets forgiven. typical sappy unbelievable romance, most women wishes was real. That is what makes it a good one, the story you wish was real. The only thing wrong is the narrator, she could be good and the emotion and telling of the story is, she just has a very nasally voice that is slightly annoying.
Marriage Bargain was one of those books that I will look back on fondly, but I'm not sure it's one I will pick up again and again just because. It was a nice, intriguing romance but lacked the all-consuming plot and theme that would make me re-read/listen to it again for elements I would have missed upon first read. Don't get me wrong, I've already purchased the second book and Probst is a wonderful writer, but I just don't think it has the action that would call me back again and again.
Sigh. She was okay. I've definitely heard way worse narrations, but she made Alexa sound like she had an ever-present cold and Nicholas sound like....well I'm not quite sure, but it wasn't hot. She did great with the Italian accent, though.
level of complexity of charactors, writing style more suitable for a 14 year old reader
Petty fighting and juvinile dialog lead to stupid story line.
If it were free. I would never waste my money or credits otherwise.
The writting was so immature, the narrator could not help but be banal.
The plot was romantic
The charactor development was simular to an imaginative 14 year old. The book read like a series of short passages linked together in a disjointed fashion. The prevailing glue was the endless hackneyed dailogue of passion.
"I'll be a story in your head, but that's OK. We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? The Doctor
People who like romances. I don't and can't remember why I bought this.
The part about her hiding the dogs. Funny!
The narrator sounded like she needed to blow her nose. Ruined the book for me.
