Avid audible "reader". I love romance, time travel and as my husband says, "Antonio riding up on his trusty steed."
This story was very sweet. The hero was a true ass that I learned to love over time. It wasn't lovely drama filed and was a nice light listen. The narrator sounded a little like she had a plugged nose but maybe that's just me. Regardless I think it's worth a listen an worth a credit as I love so many of Probst's novels and this one didn't disappoint.
This book is awesome i Couldn't put it down its both amazing in audio and paper back loved it I can't say enough about it the nerator was brilliant she did an awesome job
Someone who doesn't know good writing from bad.
WHY oh why do writers think that making a woman strong means making her mean, deceitful, sarcastic and bitchy? I have seen this over and over and am really tired of it. And then the author's voice tries to tell us that the heroine is so kind, loving and caring, and that the Hero is the one who is the unfeeling one. In my opinion, the H was the honest one, laying out exactly what he wanted and expected in the relationship. The h said what she wanted and expected, all the while holding back the truth. Then she changed the rules of the game and was mad when the H didn't jump when she said jump.
I absolutely hate this story trope.
It's not that she was terrible...It's just that there was no differentiation between the female voices, or sometimes even between the male and female voices. It made it a little hard to follow sometimes.
I liked the Hero, and the Italian count. But I really didn't like the heroine, and all of her lying. Her supposedly good reasons were really just pride, which is another word for arrogance. These are things she accused him of! I have no patience for that. Then when things got tough, she ran off. Ugh.
Right at the top
Where all the dogs are in a room & Nick opens the door thinking it is a burglar . The dogs all fly out of the room nearly knocking him over & he yells for Alexa.
No, but I loved her on this book.
I laughed a lot and there were some very sweet moments.
Overall this was a very endearing story. Both Nick & Alexa were truly meant for each other. I loved how the romance played out after they signed the contract & married. I recommend this book very highly.
This book is highly predictable and I don't think the narrator's voice matches the age of the characters. But overall it was still a good book.
I read the spin off series 1st and then started with this one... I enjoyed it a lot but not enough to keep it in my library. I do however want to hear the entire series out.
Honestly I wasn't expecting much from this one, I picked it up on a $4 Audible sale... I was pleasantly surprised by the story though.
It started off with a scene from the past to introduce us to our characters, but in this blast from the past you can already see whats going to happen. It's a really predictable story, but enjoyable all the same. There were a few holes in the story (why wouldn't she know anything about his family when his sister has been her best friend for years?) but it kept things light and interesting enough that you can easily look beyond the mistakes.
The epilogue basically spells out the next book for you, but it may end up on my to be read pile anyway!
I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to reading the sequel. I thought the ending was very sweet and touching.
Maybe to someone who is not too descriminating
Have not heard her before
Maybe - might make a daytime soap plot.
The first chapters were disturbing. If you're going to talk about children's first sexual type encounters, make sure they are done as a look back. So that we are remembering when the character was a child, not actually being a child with them.
sweet and soft
Maybe it gets better as the book goes on. I couldn't stomach listening to it.
