"Missing the Quick Wit & Humor from Previous Books."

Don't get me wrong. I still very much enjoyed this book. But truthfully, it wasn't author Molly Harper at her best.
The narration was great. Amanda Ronconi, "gets" Molly Harper's dry humor and works it with true perfection.
Still, I found this story to be lacking in some ways. The mystery /adventure just didn't do it for me.
That being said : Would I buy it again? Sure. Because even when Ms. Harper isn't at her best, she is still twenty times ber than most of the writers out ther

"Not up to Molly's usual funny books"

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Molly Harper fan. When I purchased this book I thought it was going to be a continuation of “Driving Mr. Dead” and her antics with Collin Sutherland. I wish it had been.

I love Molly’s books because I can escape from reality and laugh out loud. I kinda, sorta did that with this book but it was not as funny as her others. It did have the mixture of funny situations, bossy vampire and feisty female, annoying teenager and had me laughing but not out loud like her former books.

The love story between Cal & Iris got a little too much like a “gothic romance” during some of the love scenes. Molly went a little overboard in that department this time. I kept wondering, “What is Molly reading that is influencing her”? Along these same lines the lead vampire, Cal, is rude. I guess that goes with the whole gothic scene? Fortunately, Iris is a modern day gal that does not put up with rude.

Several times Cal grazes Iris’ neck/veins. I didn’t think that vampires just stopped there. Who knew and it was not explained.

There was some action in the book in the form of a mystery and Molly did keep me wondering. The book was an escape and funny but not as belly laughing as usual. This was just not up to her former books.

    "Another Magical Audiobook from Harper/Ronconi!"

I am so in love with Molly Harper's books and the way Amanda Ronconi brings her characters to life. Molly Harper is an auto download for me.

Harper has a new book out in a different series, not out on audio yet, but I already downloaded e book. Give it a try - its called "My Bluegrass Baby". I am really hoping Ronconi will get to narrate if this goes to audio.

"Watch out Caring and Feeding Vampires could be Hot"

I have to say, I just loved this book. It was light and funny. I found myself laughing out loud and getting strange looks from people. Molly Harper does not disappoint with this one and Amanda Ronconi is a talented narrator. Laughing is good for you and throwing in a little romance and mystery does not hurt either. This was well worth my credit. I always get a Molly Harper book when I want to have a laughing good time.

I love stories and love audible as these days I don't have time to simply sit down and read. At the moment I am a chef for a large hotel, so what time I get to myself I spend it with family and audible. :)

    "Made me laugh (some spoilers)"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Maybe one of my girlfriends that would like a comical romance novel. Most of my friends like to read books such as Wheel of Time or anything by Brandon Sanderson, so they tend to think they are above romance novels.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I felt the relationship was a little too rushed. I haven't met a couple that feel in love in a month and proposed and seen it last. If maybe it happened after a few years, or he just came back and said he wanted to be with her, I would be ok with that.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought she did an awesome job and it really allowed me to enjoy the story fully.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot. It was really a witty book that I enjoyed.

Would you listen to The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires again? Why?

Yes, it transports you to a funny place in your imagination. Today's reality sucks, nice to get away from all the problems.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Always the main character

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have all of the audiobooks that you handle of Molly's, so yes I have since she is the one who reads them

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Romantic Comedy

Once Again, Molly Harper & Amada Ronconi do it again. Together they are a powerhouse of audio books.

Iris is no stranger to vampire care; she finds Cal on the floor with multiple wounds on his incredible hard-body. She takes notice... Yummy... Cal needs to find a safe-house quickly and his only choice is the beautiful Iris. With no compassion for her new squatter, she accepts his offer so her high school sister could pay for college. Cal finds her very sexy and she comes to thirst after what he is offering.

All the favorite characters of the books past are incorporated.
