Yes, it was very funny and interesting story in the world Molly Harper has created.
It's similar to the Jane Jameson books. It occurs in the same world and some main characters appear in this book.
Yes, it's like her performances. It was funny and kept me interested.
It was an interesting difference to other type of books I usually go for. But kept my attention.
Molly Harper is so clever and witty and Amanda Ronconi is perfect in her narration.
being dyslexic, I never read allot but I loved books...doesn't mix right? NOPE...wrong...Audible allows me to "read" at a pace that works for me and they have a great selection of books to keep me interested. I'm a fiction , sci-fi, and adventure books with strong female characters reader. I have been on a Vampire kick lately so female protags have been on my list.
This book was funny, has some action in it, some interpersonal storyline, and (unfortunately) a Vampire to Human love story.
I liked the story, it kept me interested and i laughed ALLOT...I really liked the interaction between the two sisters, and the main characters sense of humor. She cracked me up allot and her wit was as engaging as well.
A girl finds a 1/2 "dead" vampire and takes him into her home to nurse him and action, funny stuff, and romance (of course) happen. Really, read it for its wit and humor...
The main character had smarts, wit, and humor. She wasn't the typical "human falls for a vampire" and goes gaga, character. She had a really nice look on life and I felt for her situation in life and her choices . I wanted to like her, and I did.
I do have to say that this is one of the few books that I've "read" where I felt like the person who did the performance matched the intent of the author and added to the story. I liked Amanda's performance and it stood out for me.
Really, read this book...while it has the "Human vs Vampire" love story snuck in there, it was still REALLY good and the humor and wit of the writer seemed to outshine the love story aspect that has been so overdone in many books these days.
I would recommend this book because it is light, funny and I thought the main character was really well written.
I don't have any other titles I would really compare it with.
I have not listened to any other performances by this narrator. I thought she did an excellent job.
There were lots of funny bits sprinkled throughout the whole book. That made it a really enjoyable listen.
Passionate lover of literature. Give me a good read and a passionate narrator and my money or credits are yours!
I enjoyed the play between the two characters and the normal narrator. This series is perhaps the most consistant, and entertaining of many in the Paranormal.
Suprisingly not much.
I loved the strenght of the female characters.. She wasn't about to put her sister in danger. Cared strongly for her future and saw this as a business job that takes her ona roller coaster. Who hasn't lived that sad story.
You bite me and I will stake you in your sleep!
Well done, enjoyed. Loved the contiuation of the original Narrator who really knows how to work Molly Harper to the best. Ronconi has one of the best, underrated voices in the business. She is snark, classy and bad to the bone when her characters need it. She makes the audiobooks... but Molly Harper's paperbacks are a delight as well.
I think it is very entertaining as is all of Molly Harper's books. She even brings in some characters from her previous books which I love.
I don't have any favorites, without all of them the story would be dull!
Amanda is a great reader. I love all her performaces. I know when and who each character is.She's exciting and brilliant!!!
Yes in fact I've listened to it as well as other of Molly's works. They are fun and feisty and keep your interest.
I have all of Molly Harper books, More Please!
I'm 28 years old, I live in Alabama, married to my husband, Bryan, for 4 years. We have no children, unless you count our two cats!
I always enjoy listening to Molly Harper's books, not only because I absolutely love her characters, but because Amanda Ronconi gives such life to them! Harper's books always leave me wanting more and this one was no exception! I can only hope we will hear much more about Iris Scanlon and her life as a day-time assistant to the vampires of Half Moon Hollow!
As usual, I really enjoyed the sarcasm and wit of the main character, Iris. I think I enjoy Harper's books so much because the characters are very relatable. Iris is someone I can see being a very good (and funny) friend.
Everything! She totally gets each character and their subtle nuances!
I enjoy many types of books and am always looking for new authors to read and listen too. I enjoy reading the reviews and adding my own from time to time.
Interesting, Fun, and Surprising
Monster In My Closet is along the same lines but still different enough to stand on it's own.
All of it. Her voice inflections were very good and she was very smooth in her delivery. I will look for more narrations by her. She does a better job on making her vampire not sound like a bad imitation of Bella Laggossi as many do.
I did not cry that I can remember. I laughed at the funny moments because they truly were funny. There were many serious moments in the book as well of course. I listened to this book in one sitting. Cleaned house as I did so. I like this story and will listen again. I can always appreciate an enterprising heroine and this story certainly has one. Iris is a really good character. Cal is a vampire character that I really liked.
This is another good light listen. Nothing real deep here but but very entertaining. An author that I will look for and probably listen to again.
Driving Mr. Dead
Cal - Amanda Ronconi has the greatest ability to hit that perfect note of sarcastic, idiot, jack-a@#, cute guy tone.
