Made it fun to listen/read along
the Druids at Paranor
Enjoyed the book so that I returned to the original book and started reading the entire series. I helps fill in the details of this book to go back and find out the history which was in the previous books.
I found the authors site and a reading list for catching up with the series and began the series from the beginning.
it brought back the magic! I like the world he (Terry Brooks) created.
I wish the remainder of the last series was available on audio book but it is not (Word &Void).
she did a good job
at times yes to both
please get the The Word & Void Novels
•Running with the Demon
•A Knight of the Word
•Angel Fire East
I am having a hard time with my eyes over the years,
I have difficulty reading
Cant wait for the next one.. Terry does it again.. love this series
This book is a sci-fi quest book. The characters are likable and the story is interesting.
If you love Shannara; if you love Terry Brooks, you will enjoy this book. Interesting but familiar characters; good story. I wish Scott Brick was back to read the book; even Phil Gigante would be okay. Rosalyn Landor is a great narrator but she just isn't a good fit for a Shannara book. Overall, this is definitely "credit-worthy"! One caveat: this is the first of a trilogy and all sorts of things are left hanging at the end of the book. It is NOT a stand-alone book. But it's a fantasy trilogy, right? So relax and enjoy a trip back to Shannara!
I love Terry Brooks and especially the Shannara series....this is true to the series, but fresh and exciting. The story is so relevant to the long standing story line that flows through all the Shannara stories (much more than the High Druid series). I only wish the whole series were already complete. I read this in only two days and now find myself contemplating in anguish the years it will take before the journey is complete.
Welcome back from Hawaii Terry. This book is back on track. Great writing and interesting story.
I would if they had read all his other books. It's not a starter book for anyone.
I'd rather not say so I don't spoil it for anybody who hasn't read it yet.
She just wasn't a good one for these books. But not the worst narrator I've ever heard. You kinda get used to her. Phil Gigante or Sam Tsoutsouvas are really the best guys for Terry Brooks.
I have always been a huge fan of Terry Brooks. I did enjoy this story, and have big hopes for the series. It wasn't as long as I had hoped. There wasn't as much action as there should have been. I just wish that one Druid would come along that is as bad-ass as Allanon or Grianne. These Druids are weak and pitiful.
Having a female narrator distracted from the story in my opinion.
ok, mechanical, oh-hum
Scott Brick, Dick Hill and Phill Gigante made this series of books come alive, especially Scot Brick.
Nope, I found it kind of like the other books but without interesting characters
There was really nothing new, basically a new generation of uninteresting characters reliving the previous books.
