Being a mother of 4, a full time student and married into the Military books are my escape from my reality.
Yes, the audio version is much better. I was at the edge of my set the entire time. Yelling at nothingness because I was wrapped up in the story.
I can't really compare this story with another. it is the same girl meets boy, boy looses girl, and then they come back to each other. However, the intensity of the love if maddening at times.
I love Emma Galvin and life and emotion she brings to each character but the on stands out would be Americas. This character, though a minor one, had spunk and could make you laugh or say "finally". No Spoilers here!
Abby was the most memorable for me in this book because she was so darn oblivious to anything that was being said to her or what was happening to her. I just wanted to shake her and yell, "OPEN YOUR EYES"!
"So many books... so little time."
Compelling, emotional, gritty.
The opening scene pulls you right in, and between Jaime's storytelling & Emma's narration, the book doesn't let go.
I don't think she necessarily brings anything extra to the story. But where many narrators fall flat, (or worse... add intonation and inflection that seem at odds with the character's personality or imagined voice) Emma excels.
I don't think I would. It was a nice nod to a song of the same name, in my opinion.
Worth the time & enjoyable. And I'm very, very picky about my audio books. ;-)
Yes, this book was great.
Like none I've ever read.
Her voice was smooth and transitioned easily from Travis to Abby.
The whole book was moving. What's not to love about it? It's every girls dream to change a man.
Already have and I would strongly recommend Walking Disaster which is from Travis' point of view.
I liked the book even though this is a very co-dependent relationship.
Yes. There was a part in the book where Abby had to deal with something that Travis did that broke her heart.
Love a good NA/YA and romance.. Run Books,Chocolate and Lipgloss book blog!!
* I purchased this audio book- this is my honest review~
Most women in the Indie World have read Beautiful Disaster so I decided that I would try out the Audio Version, only because I could listen to this while working or working out- yes, I'm addicted to reading!
I was very nervous on the audio world, not sure how I would adapt to a narrator reading the story and not getting the full affect of my own emotions of physically reading, however the narrator of Beautiful Disaster, Emma Galvin did a very good job. She was the reader for both Abby,Travis,America,Shep... Everyone-I picked this audio book since I have read the story already-so if I didn't enjoy the audio- I had already read this one... It was refreshing to listen to the book again.
I rate this 4 stars as I read this already-but If anyone is into audio or just want to try it, this is a great story to start off with. I hope to start doing more audio books and do more reviews on this. I would listen to Emma Galvin narrate on future books... I found a new vise.
Defiantly! It kept me interested thru the whole book.
Did! I could not put it down.
Jamie McGuire has taken the bad boy meets good girl, or so he thinks, story line that has been so done countless times and made it a MUST READ! Abbie is your girl with a past that's she's trying to forget while making a new start at college. Travis is the lady's man bad boy with an out of control temper but secretly has the heart to match. One of the best parts of this great opposites attract story is that Abby & Travis become best friend first then jump into a loving relationship that consumes them both. With plenty of ups & downs you'll find your yelling out loud for the bad times to stop & cheer when it works out. And with Emma Galvin reading the story it just makes the story better.
This book had potential in the beginning. It was almost like the first half and second were two different books. Second half almost made my ears bleed.
She was pretty awful. Especially her male voices.
I liked the game between Travis and Abby in the beginning.
Waste of time and credit!
I've listened to the audiobook about 30 times! So yeah, I'd do it again. As a matter of fact, I'll hit play as soon as I'm done this.
Why? Emma Galvin IS Travis and Abby!
If there is a fan-club for this chick, I want to be the president!
Yes, I would definitely listen to BEAUTIFUL DISASTER again. I've had this book in my kindle library and I fell in love with it the first time I read it. Now listening to it has brought it all back to life for me.
I'm like that with any book, listening or reading. I hate having to stop in the middle so yes, this is a book I wanted to devour in one sitting.
