Creative tale with enjoyable characters. not a deep read read but a very pleasurable summer read. This is a good fantasy book.
Recommended by another avid reader, the story was engaging, and you could not help but love some of the characters. The author was a bit predictable at times, but that was all "dwarfed" in comparison with the plot, twists, and his descriptions of the scene. I am looking forward to reading the sequel of this amazing tale of one of my most favorite mytholigcal creatures.
Yes, I love DWARVES!
Excellent performance, I will be looking for more stories narrated by him.
This is a great big epic of a book and unusual in being from the dwarves' point of view. Dwarves haven't gotten enough love in my opinion so i was eager to read the book. The reader is good does voices well and is pleasant to listen to. The story however, is so-so. its a well crafted very rich story that suffers from hokey passages and unecessary characters. I understand the author's desire to make the dwarves shine but this is done at the cost of other peoples who are demeaned. Humans simply cannot fight off orcs, elves are proud and foolish... so that all these othercharacters are more like flat sterotypes than fully fleshed out characters like the dwarves. Its a silly idea but it almost reads like dwavish propaganda. Also a lot of the names are similar which makes the plot hard to follow at times, especially in audio format. It is a fun read for a fantasy fan though.
No, to long.
Book overall was good, but it seemed like the whole Lord of the Rings Trilogy in one book. Should have been two books or three. The idea is GREAT though the dwarves were awesome.
The plot was simple but was very entertaining. The various characters had great personalities and watching our hero "grow" made the journey fun.
