I'd like to listen to all of the John Rain books by Barry Eisler
The beginning of the story when trinity starts to foresee events in the near future
After a great start, the rest of the book is very bad
I was misled by the stars given to this title. I wish I never had bought it. Worst book I've listened in months!
Trinity Game was well-plotted, well-paced and contained characters with interesting back stories. I'm happy to see it appears to be the first of a series! Luke Daniels is really a master of dialects and portrays the differing personalities exceptionally well.
The premise for the story was sound; it engaged me, as did the character development of our protagonist, a young miracle-disproving priest. Three-quarters through the tale, I was impressed, but it lost momentum and flailed a bit toward the end. That said, it was an enjoyable listen, and those who gravitate toward shadow-government tales, conspiracy theories, Vatican dark-doings and the like are sure to find it likewise a good take.
Near the top. I listen to two a week. The story and the twists kept me listening
First o e. was recommended
Totally addicted to Audible.
This book had too many good qualities to mention. Very entertaining and also very thought-provoking. I hope to see more by this author soon and hopefully with the same main character. This is one I will listen to again in the future.
Predict the future, but wouldn't quite tell you how, and then added a profound evangelical cast to the concept just to mix things up.
Well, if that is something that sounds good to you, then you will enjoy this outing.
All around entertaining, albeit with a VERY dissappointing ending ( and the almost obligatory lead for a sequel ).
Very good, at times inspiring ( small insider joke there ) narration. Overall, I enjoyed this offering, and can recommend it with the stipulations noted above.
A good story about Daniel Byrne's journey as he has to test all of his prior beliefs about his religion, his uncle, and his past. I would like to see a sequel to this.
I'm not sure why I chose this book, but I'm so happy I did. Not a "perfect fit" for the mystery-thriller genre, it adds in a little fantasy and mysticism. No clear line between black and white, or should I say good and evil. The ending was a bit of a let down, but certainly didn't ruin the experience.
Full Time Mom, Full Time Employee, Wife and hopefully much more. Haven't read an actual book since I was pregnant 5 years ago. Now I have time to "read" everyday with audio books!
Luke - yes
Sean - probably not
I don't think so
I love religious who dun its and dramas. I saw this book and that Luke narrated it and had really high hopes. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. I found myself day dreaming while listening and not even bothering to rewind. I was just biding my time until it was over and I could get something else. Way too much to wade through with too many characters to appreciate the ending. I won't even go into what I thought about the ending so that I dont spoil it for anyone. But I was disappointed.
