The Stand is a brilliant story. Much better than the TV series of the same name. Listening to this made me use my imagination more to picture the scenes.
That was exceptional. M o o n spells exceptional laws yes!! Possibly the best book iv read so far. Its took me a while but genious. Cant wait to read more of his work. Got 3 ready to go. .
"Wat a mammoth book! "
Very much enjoyed. I'll be talking in a drawl from now on. Loved Tom Collins.
A truly remarkable book that had me gripped from the beginning right up until the end.
"Way over inflated."
This is an audio book with a very strong beginning. The author writes well and combines all narrative threads skilfully...... However once all the main characters meet it soon develops into a soap opera of a novel with too much irrelevant detail and repetitive poorly written love intrigue storylines. If he had employed a really good editor, who could have chopped out all the story deadwood this would have been a much better piece of fiction.
Fantastic. Great story, very long but we'll worth it! excellent narration. I recommend this book.
"A childhood favourite"
great narration, a story that doesn't really date ..
fabulous - sad to have finished it
"King's best ever."
The classic story of good and evil brought to life as only Stephen King can do. The scenario is eerily probable let's hope it never happens.
"47 hrs and 47 mins, not a second can be missed."
I love all of Mr King's work and can't make up my mind which, if any, is or are my favourite(s). Statistically The Stand stands out, pun intended, as I have read and listened to it the most times.
This edition, I feel, is more complete and more satisfying. I think this is probably the best fiction about the end of the world as we know it. Believe me I have been reading for sixty years now and find this most believable and thus terrifying.
"A long and winding road."
The first book I have ever left a review for, quite possibly the best book I've ever read.
