As an entreprenuer, it is hard for me to shut off my brain! It is also hard for me to sit still! I love audibles! I can exercise, work on "chores" , travel and be entertained! Always looking for a good story!
I have been trying to capture control of my out of control life, so this book had some interesting points. The idea that we should get up and use our time in the morning isn't a new one. At first I was disappointed that this might be the premise, however, the author gave good examples of other advantages of using your mornings wisely. Since listening, I have put into use some of the suggestions and find things going much smoother.
Wish there were more to the book, though.
No, but there are actually studies that show you should get REM sleep rather than get up to exercise if you are trying to learn anything new, be creative or loose weight.
I wish a professional had read the book
This is an unnecessary book. It says virtually nothing. The whole book could have been written in five words. "Get up earlier and exercise." That is the whole message of the book.
This book shouldn't have been written in the first place. The title promises much more than it delivers.
Her voice and style of speaking are so low and soothing that you are at risk of falling asleep and running off the road if you listen in the car, as I do.
If you are a veteran couch potato and really don't have a clue what to do after you wake up in the morning, I guess this book might help you, but if you are that kind of person, you aren't listening to books in the car or as you run anyway. I'm sure the author is a very nice and very competent person. I have not read any of her other works. Presumably this is not the best of her portfolio.
I thik that about covers it. The only good thing about this book is that it is so short. I tend to listen to things all the way through hoping something at the end will rescue a bad effort. Nothing rescued this book, but at least I didn't have to wait long to find that out.
It is full of very useful Information that you can grow from.
Rev. Al Sharpton
family tree buff
There just wasn't any new or insightful information in this book.
The book just ends.
Pleasant, nice inflection
Nothing - I already do all of the things she recommended.
Say something about yourself!
Yet another case where the author should not read their own works. Information was nothing new.
No completely groundbreaking ideas, but should help you think about how you use your time. Worth the listen.
I was a good quick listen.
I always like to hear the writer read their own work.
Do what ever is most important first thing in the morning.
Best audio I've heard yet.
This audio really reaches out to all people whether they are already used to waking up early or have a lot of excusses as to why they "can't" get up early.
I imagine the book is equaly as good.
My favorite part is when she talks about will power energy and how waking up early as part of a routine can really change your life.
This is good for someone who wants to develop a self-improvement habit and is a morning person!
It was disappointing for me because of the oversimplified message that if you get up early you'll be more successful. While I agree that making time for self improvement and nourishing your psyche is important I think it can be scheduled anytime.
Her tone and pacing is like she is reading to a child.
The only takeaway for me was that her suggestion that once an activity is a habit it becomes routine and when it is a part of a routine you don't get caught up scheduling it or dropping it from your day - you just do it. I'm glad I didn't pay more for this book.
I wish the book didn't keep repeating the same ideas.
I wouldn't change anything to make it more enjoyable
I liked that she included real life people as her examples of what was possible to do in the morning. Not just high-flyers, but the average person in the trenches.
I don't know how it could be a movie.
I wish it would have helped me figure out how to motivate myself better in the morning. I know I CAN do more, but I have a hard time getting the motivation to do it.
