Cheryl somehow has an answer for every question that seems completely unanswerable. She has charm, wit, and heartbreaking kindness that all come across wonderfully in her thoughtful letters.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who may have a question about anything that might seem impossible to overcome. Sugar will help you find your way.
Quit reading Wild bc it wasn't the book for me at the time I was reading it. Listened to this on audible. Loved it. It made me want to go back and finish Wild and know more about this woman who writes so beautifully and cares so deeply.
I never think anything is awesome but this book is. It was like reading Dear Abby, if Dear Abby had no constraints. Sugar curses and reveals facts about herself that are usually taboo. Yet, it all worked to make me feel human and contemplate what is humanly possible. She helped convince me to forgive others and myself.
Like putting o a pair of glasses and being able to see. This is class every soul should experience. Learning how to walk around the elephant. I'm so thankful this book came to me. It's made my life better.
Wow! Be prepared to cry, even if you have had a charmed life and never experienced loss or heart break or intense joy that your heart wants to break. You will experience it by listening to this and it will remind you that feeling is actually what life is about.
This book stayed on my bookstore's staff pick section for 5 months. Courtney wrote the review and her words "it's a book you'll keep coming back to" could not be truer. I have read the book 6-7 times and listened to it twice. I laugh, cry, nod my head at different and the same places every time. I talk about her thoughts with people I love and I consider her an honest friend. She's real, raw, respectful, often right and sometimes wrong. She reminds me to reach over and over again and restored my desire to "love like a motherfucker" when I almost gave up. Read it. Find the connections. They're there.
