I've read both previous novels by Daniel Suarez and have enjoyed them quite a bit. If you like his previous work this one won't disappoint. I think Daemon is probably the best of the three.
What's really amazing is the frightening fact that reality is so close to the story of military drones in the book.
Creative mind enjoyment
Yes.... His computer plot enemies/ actions were great
Intensity and more life sense
There were several
I bought Daemon...it is also mind and entertainment driving!
Love fiction and non-fiction, love Audible!
The story isn't exactly mind-bender, but captivating and thought through well enough to grab attention and make one want to stay around for more. The performance is superb, characters do come alive, the atmosphere and the setting seems very real.
I think the authors ability to transport the reader into the story. I can see in my mind the exciting story taking place as though I am there.
Demon and Freedom are similar style and just as exciting. The same narrator read these books and did a phenomenal job on those books too.
There were many favorites for me but the HALO jump and the final approach on the cargo ship probably are most memorable.
I would definitely listen to Kill Decision again. Actually, I am re-listening to his first two books right now.
I think Suarez is a master of synthesizing current trends in technology and culture, and then placing them in a time just a bit over the horizon.
He has great presence and brings a sense of immediacy to the book.
Neither...but I was extremely entertained.
Freedom and Daemon two other great titles from the same author all have great stories with action and suspense and really well built characters
Yes and this one is just as top notch as the other one
The entire book
I'd put it high on the list, but below Daemon and Freedom (TM). This is a great, although unrelated, follow-up book to that series. Looking forward to more from Daniel Suarez.
I really like knowing what is going on with the newest technologies.
I will make this sweet and simple. I read or listen to several books at a time going back and forth as my mood fits. Kill Decision did not allow that, once started you had to keep going and when it was over I wished it could go on but the smile on my face was all I had left. If DAEMON and FREEDOM were to your liking, then get going with Kill Decision.
get rid of the script that emanates from mckinneys mouth.
gotten rid of mckinney's script
the narrator does a great job actually
the storyline - brilliant concept for a story
did i mention the idea of getting rid of mckinney's script? wow....wooooooooooooooow....i fast forwarded it like 5 times.
This was a very enjoyable book, a modern thriller. I had listened to Daniel Suarez's previous two books and loved them. This book has similar elements while being a separate story. The central mystery are drone attacks that occur and the team that is dispatched to find out who is responsible. It is a roller coaster ride with strong characters. There were great sequences where the action was intense. In addition to the great action there is the whole question of drones, especially autonomous drones which is raise but the answer is left for us to work out.
The narration was excellent, Jeff Gurner narrated Suarez's previous two books and does and excellent job here with different and distinct voices for the characters which does a good job in bringing out their personalities. He also does a bang up job with the action sequences.
The only weakness with the books is a couple of scenes of awkward dialog and a romance angle that I think might have been better left for the end of the book. But these are minor and do not really detract from the story. I was also not a fan of the profanity but that is the way many people talk today.
While not as great and inventive as his first two books, I loved the book and would listen to it again. I highly recommend it.
