I love reading and I love Audible. Their fantasy and Sci-Fi selection is excellent!
I wouldn't quite put Kill Decision up there with Suarez's previous books Daemon and Freedom, but it is a fun technological thriller read well by Jeff Gurner.
If you like Dale Brown you will like this book. Contemporaneous ideas and concepts worthy of a good listen. The naivete of one of the characters was overdone, but in balance was easy to overlook.
Good solid plot. Likeable characters. Good narrator.Very thought provoking in the realm of robotics. A good listen. Not exactly a "page turner" but a good listen nevertheless. Go ahead and spend a credit. You won't be disappointed.
I don't think anyone would enjoy it.
Yes, I absolutely LOVED "Daemon" and "Freedom TM"
I guess Odin.
I dunno - the main character, maybe
I loved Daemon and Freedom TM and was so looking forward to this book but, it was completely unoriginal. It was a cookie-cutter thriller. Predictable. Never connected with the characters.
Having listened Daemon and Freedom TM, I wasn't sure if Suarez could live up but his technical detail and movie-like pacing make this a worthwhile listen.
The insect swarm science was very interesting, especially during the safe house chapter.
Win, lose or drone.
I seldom read a book twice but would watch this if released as a movie
I lost sleep because I wanted to continue reading
Yes, as the author (an entrepreneur & technologist in his own right) has researched in depth the technologies already in existence or within the realms of the technically feasible in the foreseeable future.
The special forces protagonist for his understanding of war and politics beyond the rhetoric of headquarters and think tanks (while he clearly is smart enough to grasp those complex theories as well. Well crafted character with depth.
The discovery of the cargo ship working as the formicary of the robotic weaver ants.
Yes. Capitvating & addictive.
Even as someone not listening to fictional literature at all, for its educational value I enjoyed it as the first piece of fictional literature I have read in 10 years.
This story is one that is very current for 2012 and will date as time goes on. However, this is a great story and some elements were very Michael Crichton like (Next). However, Suarez does an excellent job of making his own story stand out. If you liked his other story Daemon series then you will also like this one.
I did like the Daemon series a bit more than this one, but its still a great read.
This is a really good read for those who like action/adventure, military fiction, and/or tech/geek fiction. Not as mind bending as Daemon or Freedom (TM) but this book is scarier because it could happen!
