I seldom read a book twice but would watch this if released as a movie
I lost sleep because I wanted to continue reading
Yes, as the author (an entrepreneur & technologist in his own right) has researched in depth the technologies already in existence or within the realms of the technically feasible in the foreseeable future.
The special forces protagonist for his understanding of war and politics beyond the rhetoric of headquarters and think tanks (while he clearly is smart enough to grasp those complex theories as well. Well crafted character with depth.
The discovery of the cargo ship working as the formicary of the robotic weaver ants.
Yes. Capitvating & addictive.
Even as someone not listening to fictional literature at all, for its educational value I enjoyed it as the first piece of fictional literature I have read in 10 years.
This story is one that is very current for 2012 and will date as time goes on. However, this is a great story and some elements were very Michael Crichton like (Next). However, Suarez does an excellent job of making his own story stand out. If you liked his other story Daemon series then you will also like this one.
I did like the Daemon series a bit more than this one, but its still a great read.
This is a really good read for those who like action/adventure, military fiction, and/or tech/geek fiction. Not as mind bending as Daemon or Freedom (TM) but this book is scarier because it could happen!
good way to relax, heard about on a pod cast decided to check it out loved it
After reading Daemon and Freedom TM this is a great book that continues to be in the technical style and sensibility you'd expect from Suarez. Good read and worth the credit. Jeff Gurner is great as always for the narration.
A MUST READ...!
The two main characters (female anthropologist & group leader) were my favorite characters.
If I had the time I would of listened to this book non stop.
A must read....
Yes. I really enjoy technology based books and Daniel Suarez is the best author out there combining thriller plot lines with tech.
The doctor from the rain forest. She suprised me many times in the book.
He did well developing each of the characters in the book and bring them to life.
I was fascinated and at times scared about where the technology of drone warfare might take us.
Daniel Suarez is the best tech author out there combining thriller plot lines with deep technology setting it in our current times. If you enjoy this book try his first two books also they are fantastic. I look forward to his next book coming out he has not disappointed yet.
An Information Systems Analyst involved in setting up new businesses.
Yes, this is a great book, especially if read before Daniel Suarez's other books Daemon and Freedom TM.
I loved the weaver ant information and references, Suarez always combines entertainment with information.
Jeff Gurner did a great job in the previous books, and has in my view the perfect voice for this book.
I listened to this book over the course of three days and was pretty interested.
This book should have been Suarez's warm-up book, like The Hobbit before Lord of the Rings. If you plan reading all of Saurez's books read this first, as Daemon takes this to the next level.
