yes when book 5 comes out
I thought the performance was great
I listen to this series after my son told me it was one of his favorites. I was lucky enough to get to listen to all 4 books in a row and hope we do not have to wait years for book 5.
Only have the audio version.
I thought it was done really well. Made me laugh a lot.
I highly recommend this series. They are great. I enjoy David Weber other works as well.
I've really enjoyed the previous books in this series as ebooks, so I was looking forward to this continuation. Nick Sullivan's narrative style almost made me give up on it, though. His stop-start clipped enunciation sounds more like a movie trailer than someone reading a book aloud. After a time, I almost got used to his phrasing, but never quite.
I dont belive it is better because I can imagine the scene more thoroughly if I read, but I sometimes miss things if I read, that I catch when I listen,
The continuation of the charactors from the previous novels.
More diferentation between charactors
Hero saves the world and gets the girl - medieval style
Tell us about yourself!
In regular David Weber fashion this series has moved away from the action adventure it was in the first book towards some sort of pseudo political drama. There are factions, plots and mischievous villains meet in dark rooms for (lengthy) discussions of dastardly plans. There is even a touch of romance as the tile suggests. But what David Weber does best is still action, so what if you have to fast forward past some bits, the action and the scaffolding surrounding it is still good.
This is the fourth book in this series so yeah, you should all know what tis all about by now.
I've read almost all of David Weber's books and this is the first I've ever wanted an abridged version of. The first 4 hours or so were a real slog to get through, after that there were some moments of excitement but they were few and far between.
As Jonathan mentioned in the previous review the constant repetitive discussions on the economic impacts of the canal, along with the awful dialogue of the bad guys made it a real struggle to stay awake.
Nick Sullivan did a great job with what he had to work with and was probably the only reason I managed to make it through the entire book. I'll certainly be waiting for some detailed reviews before purchasing any subsequent books in the series.
If your not haveing fun your at the worng table.
Who cares? Print is good audio is good it really depends on who in the mood for what at what time.
Well I had assumed that I could predict David's next move with this book and well he threw me a good one. Guess that is I get for being full of myself.
Yep there was, and I ain't going tell ya..... your going have to read it yourself but it dose involve to coursers and their riders.
