Angel's character continues to develop quite a bit in this continuation of the series but I wish the surrounding characters, particularly Marcus, were a little more substantial. Still, it was a light, fun read and I enjoyed it. I also feel like Allison McLemore's narration really suits the character.
Well I'm lucky to of had 99% all fantastic books! But for its own genre It's probably one of the best!
The entire book is memorable since its not dry. Its very full of humor, violence, and suspense!
I guess when Angel is captured.
Zombie Super Powers!
This book is mostly geared towards adults. This book is packed full of action and adult humor.
i love this story i love the people. just to funny. i know is young i know is out there but come on we all need a laugh and a guilty pleasure. these books even bring out the best in people. you find you become attached. you go girl.
I just love Angle...this was a great follow up to the first book and you really get to see Angel grow and come into her own. The narration was great, I can't wait for the next one
I'm what some folks call, "extremely average."
Yes, Allison McLemore adds a lot of flavor to the telling of the story
This was my first book featuring zombies living secretly among us, So no comparison - except for the first book "My Life as a White Trash Zombie.' Both terrific, fun stories,
Haven't heard her on anything else, but I would definitely give her a listen.
I'm a Wife, Mom and I own my own store. I love books but have precious little time to read. Audible reads them for me!
Absolutely! Not only is it funny but it's got that bit of detective work, girl troubles and hey, the girl eats brains! What's not to love!
The dynamics of the characters.
Perfect voice for this book!
Tell me a story, make it interesting, and always add zombies. Things are just better with zombies.
Yes, I'm in love with Allison McLemore's voice. Even though I'm rebuying these on my nook soon, I'm always going to come back to listen to these. And highly recommend book lovers to try both. Listen while reading along, or enjoy both separately, a good book is worth multiple verisons, (at least in my imho).
So far I haven't found anything quite like this, closest I could think of would be the Anita Blake series. But I'm far from a book know it all, so there's probably more, and I'm going to be on the look out for such!
Angel, though I love Allison's male voices, mainly when she did Kang's, but Angel's still the best even when she's decayed and zombiefied, Brains!
" And I thought becoming a zombie was the worse thing yet!"
If you've read, or listen to the previous book, you know what your in for. It's funny, its exciting, and however gross, you'll probably learn a few things. Interesting characters, great interactions, and a reader that I'm personally in love with now. This takes up right after the last book, so the first one is a pretty much need to read so you won't get lost, and ends in a great way! Even though this didn't ask "My favorite scene", I'm going to say it anyway, without spoiling anything. But Ed's 'ace up the sleeve', was epic. I'm a horror fan, story lover, and with my group of friends, the go to for any kind of story (book, comics, movies, whatever). And that scene made me go "Epic!, Never would have thought of that!" As a southern born and raised in Georgia, the southern voices didn't annoy me and go "wait we don't sound like that!", so again, I can't highly recommend this book enough. If you liked the first one, you'll fall in love with this one even more.
I couldnt wait to listen to this after listening to the first book. I loved both and would recommend them.
I am really looking forward to the next in this series. It is a great story with a great narrator. The lead character is amazing
For background, my favorite authors are George R. R. Martin, Robin Hobb, Jacqueline Carey, Ken Follett, Bernard Cornwell, Kevin Hearne, Jim Butcher and Margaret George. My favorite illustrators are Johanna Basford, Millie Marotta, Richard Merritt, and Claire Scully (just to name a few).
I love Angel. She's just a fun main character that I love to hear about her escapades.
I really don't think there is a zombie book out there to compare to. Okay, maybe Mark Henry's Happy Hour of the Dead stories but not. Guess Amanda and Angel are neck and neck in the race for my favorite 'funny' zombie heroine.
I don't want to write about that! That might give away some of the awesomeness. Listen to both stories for yourself if you like zombies and humor because you won't regret it.
Yes and I did! Well mostly. Took small breaks but I did finish it all in one day. Can't wait for the next book in the series. At least I hope there is another book in the series!
