No innocent young lady here. And guys this is not a turn on. What made Fifty Shades of Grey a super book was the combination of innocense, character development, hot kinky sex and a real plot. This is a wannabe copy cat book that left out everything but the sex.The cold and mechanical way this book approaches that . . well, I'd rather listen to my Wall Street Journal daily capsule. Forget this one.
If Sylvia Day would have come up with her OWN story instead of hijacking E.L. James Fifty Shades storyline, this could have very well been a better story. I'm waiting for the lawsuit, cause this is Plagiarism at its best.
No, it has not. However, I will not listen or read another book by Sylvia Day.
The narrator did an excellent job. I will listen to other books by Jill Redfield.
This book had NO redeeming qualities.
This was a total waste of a audible credit. As an avid reader, I'm aware that some books will have many similarities. I'm simply appauled that Sylvia Day copied and passed the work off as her own. In my honest opinion, she cheated readers and give good authors a bad name. WHERE IS THE LAWSUIT!!!
A story! Some character development. Some depth to any of it.
Not if there are any men in it. She did well with the lead character, but Gideon...oh boy...horrible.
Eva and Gideon
This was a complete Fifty Shades of Grey knock-off and has me so disappointed and, frankly, disgusted, that I don't think I'll try another of this author's books - though I've heard her other books are good. I don't know if I want to take the chance.
I really enjoyed this book. I've read a lot of books that have erotic scenes and know that I will love to hear them when I can't re-read the book. Each one that I have enjoyed has an intriguing story and of course the characters have some flaw brought on from their past. The very rich men are always stunningly handsome (and of course hotter than hell!!). The women are beautiful but have such low self esteem for some reason or another and are a bit annoying ... what more do you want the man to do to you....I mean for you?! Did I mention the hot love scenes?! In all fairness, the men don't think they are worthy of the ladies either. The event(s) that triggered Gideon's flaws have not been revealed yet and I'm completely dying to find out. Eva has "bared to us" what's in her past and Gideon still loves her, God bless his soul! If you haven't read Reflected In You you are in for a roller coaster icy/hot ride and an ending that I (personally) didn't see coming. I have recommended this book and many others from Sylvia Day to my friends and they are all hooked and enthusiastic about the next installment as well.
Well, of course 50 Shades...but also Gabriel's Fire, the Billionaire trilogy (the Marriage Bargain, the Marriage Trap, & the Marriage Mistake). Then on the supernatural side there is the Charley Davidson series by Dyandra Jones. You HAVE to get those!! Why...the steamy love scenes, the sexy men, and the lucky women who fall in love with the most perfect being in their life that cherish, protect, and physically and spiritually love them!! Can you be jealous of a fictional character? Did I mention the sex?!? Where do these men learn this stuff and where can I send my man to take the course?
Absolutely...I'm addicted. I have listened to my audios multiple times.
I really wish that there were at least 2 readers - one male, one female. You can be a great reader, but there is nothing like a seductive male voice!!!
I ordered the second book before I finished the first one. Just get it?
Bared to love
I have the print version of this book and yes I did think that the audio version is way better than the print version. This version of the story was brought to life versus just reading it by myself.
I love that this book so much more realistic than 50 shades. Gideon and Eva have more realistic qualities to them than any other character I have read about in a very long time. I love the fact that it had a level of realness to it unlike 50.
I LOVE her as a narrator she brings LIFE to the characters the only thing I did not like was the fact that she did cheesy male voices. That made me giggle but other than that she is a good narrator.
It was a book that I wanted to read in one sitting but I had to work so I couldn't listen to it all at once but this was a real good book!
I thought I loved the 50 Shades Of Grey series until I listened to this. Now I'm feeling like the 50 Shades author was insulting my intelligence. I'm fairly new to the romance/erotica scene...particularly where vampires aren't concerned. So, maybe the 50 Shades books were only preparing me for this series! ;) Well written, well read!
I got this book yesterday and finished it today...I sat and listened to it until it was done...too bad I have to work tomorrow, so I won't get to listen to the second book uninterrupted!
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
Yes. It's steamy and exciting.
Well as much as he drives me crazy at times, I am absolutely fascinated with Gideon. He's a big puzzle.
No I hadn't. She rocked it. Will look for more of her work to listen to.
When they first get together, I had a difficult time breathing. Whew!
Looking forward to the next book! Am downloading ASAP!
This book is good enough that I did listen to it all the way through. It has the literature quality equivalent comparable to the theatrical quality of reality TV; it is fluff, but entertaining/sexy fluff if that is what you are into.
If you have read 50 shades then you already know this story; it is EXTREMELY similar. The differences I can pick out: the leading lady isn't quite as annoying, there is no bondage, and it is a bit more explicit I think.
This is meant to be basically a ripoff of the50 shades books so i had my doubts because the concept was good but they annoyed the hell out of me. Very happily surprised though this story was so much better the main character actually had a spine and was not annoying in the least!
