Jill Redfield did a great job of narrating bu the story itself was just bad! I might try and Silvia Day book but just not in this series.
Not much of a plot and the heroine Eva was way too much of a drama queen
about half the sex and half of the over the top descriptions of EVERYTHING
Where do I start? I have heard so many good reviews for this book but I just don't get it. Eva, the "heroine" is a whiny, self centered DRAMA QUEEN. The whole story is basically Eva and Gideon having sex, Gideon saying/doing something she perceives as wrong, then she runs, Gideon comes after her, they have "amazing" sex, then she runs again. Even the sex (endless) scenes got boring. There was really NO plot, except Eva being a total drama queen. Yes, this book was similar to Fifty Shades but at least in that book I could feel the authors love for the characters and what story she was trying to tell.
So many people are comparing Bared to You to Fifty Shades, saying if you like Fifty, you'll like Sylvia Day's series as well. I don't agree! Somehow Bared to You is more crude and can't compare to the Fifty Shades Series.
The narrator did an amazing job and the story is amazing Sylvia Day knows how to write a book that you are unable to stop listening to with tasteful use of the correct words at the correct times.
The whole story of book 1 looking forward to book 2 which I am starting soon.
She sounds so sweet but gives so much meaning to Gidion Cross' voice that I forget that it's a woman reading it.
Bared to you.
So many books...so little time! :)
Eva meets Gideon by chance at her new job, and everything changes for her. Gideon isn't one for complicated relationships, however he is willing to change his rules for Eva. Their attraction is very strong, and they can't deny it, but it doesn't prove to be as easy as they would like to think. Just as thing get more intense...Eva realizes that like her Gideon has a dark past, but unlike her he isn't willing to share and is instead driving a wedge between them.
Again, another book I really wanted to like, but I felt like Eva and Gideon's relationship was completely about sex. Every time they had a fight or were disagreeing on how things were going in their "relationship" the resolution would be to have sex. It was as if it solved everything and yet it didn't solve anything!
I'm really torn to continue the series, because it left you hanging with some unanswered questions...but at the same time I'm just not sure it will get any better. I do love Jill Redfield as a narrator, and I think she did an another amazing job in this book...makes me want to like it even more. But overall..Bared to You left me wanting there to be more to Eva and Gideon's relationship...to me it was just bare! :(
First of all, I have to say that I am a huge fan of strong female characters and this book brought it! I love that the characters aren't perfect and both main characters have sad and complicated pasts. There was a lot, I mean A LOT, of sex in this book. So, if that's not for you, please beware. The story was good and I feel like it flowed nicely. The most enjoyable part of this book was the narrator. She is smart, sassy and does the characters total justice! I'm looking forward to listening to the next two in the trilogy and I hope and pray that they stick with the same narrator! I think I'll end up buying anything that she reads!
It's all about romance. My favorite.
This book ranks in the top 10% of the books I have read. Could not put the trilogy down till the end.
This book is sexually explicit, however it is the story line that keeps you listening not the sex.
Ava was my favorite charachter
This book will make you laugh and cry, You will not be able to stop until your done.
Live life like a kid in a candy store!
I would power down on the crazy town!
They finally started acting a little more normal and the book ended! I didn't want the next one until then. Now I will listen to the next just to see if they go a little more normal or crazy town returns.
I really liked the room-mate! I think I might have liked it better if I read it (very rare to feel that) because I wouldn't have imagined Gideon quite so freaking intense and when he says her name it would have been more loving and not crazy.
If Kate Hudson where Eva an Josh Holloway as Gideon and we went 50% less on the intensity.
While the performance was really good, it would have been better if Gideon was not performed so intense. When he calls her name in passion 'wanting/ urgent' would have been better than 'crazy/ pained'.
Say something about yourself!
Yes, the relationship between Gideon and Eva is electric. There is also a drive to read to find out more about their pasts. You find different things each time you listen!
Her performance of all characters is great!
This book is hot and I admit there are several similar things to fifty shades but for me this book was better.
I liked the mix of drama passion.
I hope they keep her through all the books she add a great deal to the story
Yes I read this book in a day and will listen to it again!!
Can't wait for the next book!!
New to Audible, but already addicted.
Not sure since I do not like to read books.
The build up to their first encounter.
