I dont have the print version of the books to make a proper comparison but I will say the audio version is fantastic.
It reminded me of Fifty Shades of course, But I think this was much better written. The characters are great and the story line is quite compelling. I was hooked from beginning to end. .
The narrator was so good. I loved her voices for both leads, punchlines were on point. Every little laugh or sigh made the scenes that much more real.
I was very much moved by Gideon Cross the male lead. We get to understand most of what happened to the lead female but Gideon remained so guarded that whenever we got a glimpse into his past it was that much more heart breaking. I got emotional, I cried. It was unexpected but so very welcomed.
This story is well written and the narrator was great. I just had a hard time with the intensity. I didn't like the possessiveness and the neediness. It didn't feel like "love" really. It was obsession. It was too much love-hate, and it can be best described as UNHEALTHY. Not an uplifting love story. Lots of angst and fights and sex. I hated Gideon's thinking he owned Ava. The love scenes were very explicit and very intense and a lot of the time dirty. It was too intense for my taste.
I will try the next crossfire novel by Sylvia Day
Mysterious pasts, overly descriptive - had a lot of "ok we get it" moments
I had issues at first but as the story progressed it was ok
Amazing, soo extremely well written, Sylvia has an amazing way of bringing you into her stories. One of my top favorite books of all time.
None, Sylvia is in a league of her own. He books are some of what you would expect from an erotic romance, but so well done. Amazingly well written, and her stories are relatable
on a level, and yet also out of grasp.
Only the Cross Fire books. She does very well in all of them.
When they dance at the garden party.
I am ready for the next book!
I love a good story this is not a complete let down but I can help the feel of "I heard it all before" I could see here each character would fit into 50 shades.
Enthralling,captivating and fast
50 shades maddening love
No but I enjoyed throughly
Couldn't wait to hear the next two and wished there was MORE
I love Sylvia day she knows how to weave the right amount of sex into a story that will suck you in and leave you wanting, but this just seemed like 50 shades of grey all over again. The only difference was this guy didn't have a bondage fetish. If you like troubled people hashing it out with some sexual fun this is your book. I like her Victorian smuts better lots of character depth great sex and just all around better.
Is he serious?
The Crossfire series is like the non-bondage version of Fifty Shades of Grey... characters are twisted and need therapy but oh so good at...
If you're looking for a good HOT well written book this is it!!
It will take you away to a fantasy that you won't soon forget.
Light porn not great story not enough character build, extremely crude.
The narrator was acceptable.
