Absolutely. Tavia Gilbert is always exceptional and I love Jeaniene Frost. This book was good... the story wasn't as developed as most of her other books... a bit disappointing.
She is able to really bring the emotion of the characters to the story. She is an excellent narrator.
If the story were longer and better developed. It felt a bit rushed... most of the stories I've read from Jeaniene Frost have been significantly longer. Still worth the ready, especially if you've been following her storyline...
I will continue to purchase her books as she writes them... I really love her stories.

In true Frost fashion, this is a great story with great narration. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to more in this series.
hey :-) My name is Camilla
This is the begining of yet a greathe series from one of my favorite writers,
Narrated Tavia Gilbert one of the best :-)
The story lives you wanting more and i can't wait for the next book in the Night Prince series to some out.
Jeaniene Frost does it again with her latest book. I was happy to hear she devoted a whole book to Vlad. He needed his story to be told. Leila is a very likable character for a human. Those two make one hot couple.
Old friends, Cat, Bones, Mencheres and Kate make a short appearance.
Tavia Gilbert is one of my favorite narrators. You can always tell who is talking. She did a great job with the accents. I've always loved her "Bones" voice.
I gave the story 4 stars only because it left me wanting more. If you love Jeaniene's night huntress series, you'll enjoy this new series as well!
Hope I don't have to wait a year for the next one!!
Once again, Jeaniene has delivered a well written story on a character I already know and love. She is getting a bit predictable in the love aspect, but thats ok. The character development makes it all worth it. If you love the other books, you love this one too!
I grew up with books....not television.
I couldn't buy this fast enough when I saw it released. I've listened to every single one of Frost's books and she did not disappoint with Once Burned.
Again, she creates a set of characters that you become completely invested in. Then she sets them on a chaotic action filled adventure packed with just enough heat to make it believable. I've read thousands and thousands of books - but NO ONE has ever written love scenes that affect me this physically until I read Frost's work.
The premise may not be an original one, but it's a storyline that I can't get enough of.....gifted human girl meets dark and mysterious vampire, lives are threatened and working through the issues, girl and vampire fall in lust. I love it. If you love this genre....it's a no-brainer!
You can't help but love the story of Vlad!! We loved him in the Cat and Bones books and the Night Huntress World duo and now he's having his own adventure with the perfect gal for him.
THE ONE DISAPPOINTMENT
This is not a man meets woman and romance ensues story, but the start of more..
You get to the end of the book and there is yet more to come but we have to wait. I personally think this one could have been a bit longer but it's length means it's basically all action with no boring recaps.
Can't wait for the next one!!!
I bought this book from the positive reviews despite the fact I am really tired of vampire stories and have begun to ignore a book just because it's about vampires. I enjoyed the story as well as the narration. If you're as tired pf the deluge of vampire stories, you'll enjoy this one. Even though the basic formula is there, hunky men, strong women, a dash of lust - this is a fun story presented well.
I loved Tavia's clear and consistent portrayal of one of my favorite characters and some new ones I fell in love with.
Vlad is so fun sexy and dark he's the perfect male lead for a urban fantasy/romance novel.
Perfect and up to the standards of all her readings. She is able to make you forget it is just one person reading.
I giggle and smiled even though It made me look silly as I listened. It has the perfect blend of suspense and victory while keeping the realistic feel of the characters. All supernatural elements aside each and every character is deep and individual.
My only complaint is it just wasn't long enough. I can't wait till the next book.
I need more ears!
I'm a little late to the party here. I didn't know this spin-off series was about Vlad. I know, right? I LOVED Vlad in the Huntress books, but I bought this series not knowing it was about him!. Now, imagine my snoopy dance when I started listening!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank you Jeaniene Frost, for giving Vlad his due! And for giving him such a gloriously, wonderfully realized girlfriend!
And thanks for -- and to -- Tavia Gilbert, too!
