Avid audiobook addict!
Poorly developed characters, ridiculous dialogue. Not entertaining at all. Waste of a credit.
right up at the top, it was not what I expected and that's a good thing
The unexpected plot twists and unusual development
No spoilers, just follow Tim's character and watch it grow
excellent book and fantastic narration, strongly recommend
Yes. It was interesting. I did find the build up to the action a bit slow, but it didn't take away much from my enjoyment.
No. The beginning several chapters sort of bored me and I had to force myself to keep going, but I was rewarded with a really well written science fiction/horror story at the end.
Definitely pick it up if you like the idea of different dimensions and government cover ups.
So initially I found this book hard to categorize (my general categories that I finally picked are general enough not to ruin any reveals), but like an onion it all finally peeled back to a reveal (not completely, but enough that I wasn't angry that more info wasn't given). To beat the concept into the ground, this onion was then cut apart, battered, deep-fried and served with a side of thousand islands sauce. Yeah, the book was that good. Blending a bunch of different characters together into a cohesive story of a seriously, seriously weird LA building into a story that really made it painful at times to stop reading/listening to this book. I don't want to go into any more details as a lot of the fun in this is the incremental approach, and the engaging characters, that made this book so much fun.
This may be my favorite book from 2014 (only another 6 weeks to be bested).
While I generally associated the reader with the Joe Ledger series, I think he did an awesome job with this book as well.
It took a while to get the story started. I was fine until they opened apartment 14. The story then took off on a tangent that I was not expecting. I liked Tim but all the characters were good. I was glad for the mix of age groups to show that they can all get along when they have a common goal.
It was so-so.
No. I think all the loose ends were cleared up by the end. What else could the author do with this story line?
This book kept me company during two nights when I was suffering insomnia from jet lag.
the last 25% of the book is awful, it started very good but making it finish like a bad hollywood movie is very disappointing
the story at the begining is very interesting
Yes. I thought the author wrote an endearing story that captured my interest from the beginning. I liked the characters, found them believable and enjoyed their banter. I loved Ray Porter's performance. I really thought he captured the characters essence in his different voice.
There were many, however most of them were associated with the team working together to solve the buildings mystery. It did have shades of Lost in it.
That's a hard question. I liked all the characters and their difference eccentricities.I think Nate stood out as the leader and the person who kept things moving along.
Books books books
When I started this book I had no idea it would take the turn that it did. I was pleasantly surprised to have not been reading the same ol book that has been written over and over again. It can be a little slow at times but worth hanging in there.
If I don't answer your call its because I'm totally in love with this audiobook!
I think I would try another book because the beginning was very enjoyable however it fell off
Make the second half as interesting as the first
The performance was fine
I was very engaged with the first half of the book however very disappointed with the second. The ending was also a total letdown and not in a good way
I think I only paid $3.95 for this book but even that was too much I returned it… Thank goodness for audible
