I enjoyed the first half of the book. The character development is shaky but the plot unfolds at a pretty good clip and the mystery at the center of the novel is initially compelling. Unfortunately, as more details emerge the book goes downhill fast. Things start getting far fetched. Then they get ridiculous. Then they get laughable. If you can read this book without rolling your eyes, your ability to suspend disbelief is far more powerful than mine. I couldn't get through the last couple chapters.
Yes! The book kept me interested and it was hard to put down because I wanted to know what would happen next.
If they are interested in Sci-fi, then yes.
Nothing! This was my first audio book by Ray Porter but it won't be my last.
Heart stopping bone chilling thriller
hard to say as they were all good.
very hard to put down as you'll want to know what happens next.
The author's characterizations are so juvenile. Just like after school special you might have seen in the 1980s. The mystery is interesting at first but the author hasn't developed it enough and doesn't load it with anything tantalizing or unseen beyond what the characters deduce. Finally, the ending is just flat, non-stop, panicky panting and whining and not-too-gripping action sequences that made me turn the thing off 2 or 3 chapters from the end just to make the torture stop!
The book is well worth the read- Granted it wanders off into a very odd place, but it wraps up quickly and well.
This was my first introduction to Ray Porter as a reader and he's great! A good reader is at least 50% of the enjoyment of a book and Porter ROCKS!
great reading ride
When the door opened
All of the characters and all their energy
Yes, the relationship between vip and nate for the first time.
I just enjoyed the story a lot and the narrator makes it work so well
Awesome. Almost non-stop suspense; clever, intriguing, and well thought out story overall; and well written. And Ray Porter, unsurprisingly, does a great job and really enables the listener to experience the story.
Absolutely worth a credit.
