Cheap sound effects completely ruined this book for me. Poor audio caption (especially when the narrator is yelling) had the final "stop and delete" consequence.
Love reading! Always have, glad my friend turn me on to audible. Love romance and mystery books
There was a lot that happened in this book. Wonder how its going end. Already on book3 book two made me mad at the end. Two many people keep popping up and timeline for some events and clothes and stuff don't add up.
15 minutes of listening and I'd had enough. The story-line is completely overshadowed by the overuse of profanity and crude language. It is one thing to use these to accurately depict a culture or environment, but this was overkill. Trying to insert background noises into a production of this type adds nothing, is distracting and detracts from the performance. Could not listen to it.
A good story is essential to be a good book. This wasn't a good story.
The characters didn't make sense. Their actions didn't make sense and it felt as if the writing was more for effect than for telling a good tale.
He is a man and all of his female characters sounded like men. It was an unavoidable problem.
The concept is a good one.
I am a writer from Toronto. I am 34 and hooked on audio books.
This is a great book and series (at least until part 3). Spend the credit and you will love it....its got my stamp...need I say more ?
If you sent me my order. It was never sent to my kindle. Your service sucks !
It was obnoxious to listen to the entire 10 hours.
The ending was as poorly thought out as one could imagine.
I've only purchased 40 books from Audible, but this one was easily the worst. It was a super crappy story line with obnoxious accents for the different characters and lousy/cheesy sound effects. I think the thing that drove me the most nuts was the gratuitous use of the "N" word throughout the book. The book is about Black thugs and couldn't cast a worse shadow on Black people. Unless you like hearing lots of racial epithets and bad stereotypes, you should avoid this one.
That even tough Carter didn't know daddy, he couldn't help but see that he is a younger version of his dad. From A to Z
That it kept me going. Like an addict I couldn't get enough.
It's hard to say but in general I'd say when the Murder Mamas dealt w/ one of their jobs making him feel not so much like a man.
An Apple Doesn't Fall Far from the Tree
Never read the printed version
I loved the power and strength of the Diamond family. Thought Mecca was a bit over the top, but overall a great listen. Also loved the introduction of Carter into the Diamond family and his story line until the woman that caused him to go soft came along.
A bit inconsistent at times to me, but I eventually got used to it. I chuckled to myself at times at his monotone expressions.
Haven't a clue.
That it was not good.
I didn't like all the sex. It was too much and didn't add to the story. I thought it was going to be a totally different. I didn't like any of the characters and it was so bad, I didn't finish the book. Huge disappointment.
