Nalini has done it again. This story continues the problems between Psy, Changlings, and humans. Nalini entertains with a wonderful story and world. You can cheer for your favorite characters while Nalini focuses on a new couple. She enter-twines this world in way where you can enjoy the new romantic couple and their challenges. You can also see what is happen to other important characters.
I enjoy reading series and very rarely read stand alone series. I mostly read romance and sci-fi & fantasy.
I do. The only thing that made it annoying listening to this story was that it was suppose to be about Adria and Riaz and, instead you get more inside look at Hawk and sienna's story. And it just felt like to me that there was a lot of loose ends. You would hear or read one part thinking that it will continue and be answered and it isn't.
Don't get me wrong it is a great story and I loved it, I just wish that there was less loos ends and unanswered questions at the end of the book. As I finished the book it left me with many more questions but, as well it has a nice set up for the next book in the series. I can understand where the author was going but, I was just annoyed that there were so many more questions that i had. But I am a huge Nalini Singh fan and I plan on reading the next book when it comes out.
The most interesting was the fact that they both came from bad places and they made a beautiful connection work despite everything. There really wasn't any one thing that was least interesting about the story. As I said before the loose ends made it a bit aggravating to listen to.
She brought life to the characters.
This is one of my favorite books and one of the best from Nalini Singh. She shows the strength of Riaz and Adria along with their vulnerability. I like also how previous characters, ones that you have become invested in, are involved with the story. You are not left wondering what is going on with their lives. Angela Dawe is AWESOME. From the first book in the series to the latest, you know who is who. Lucas sounds like Lucas and Hawke sounds like Hawke.
Yes, I would try another Nalini Singh book. Would probably get the iBooks version, since I am not a fan of Angela Dawe as the Narrator.
Fair story. Nothing climactic.
Maybe, if its on sale or free from the local library.
Nope. Would wait for Redbox.
I really love the Guild Hunter series. I have listened to or read 3 of this series as space/time fillers. I am not in love with this series.
Listening to the continuation of this series that I've grown to like.
I like them all.
I really enjoy Nalini Singh stories. This one was a bit convoluted and had a ton of side stories going on at the same time as the main plot. Unfortunately, the narration of this book was terrible. The narrator read this book with a nearly flat affect and inserted huge pauses at inappropriate times. I would recommend the book to any fan of Ms. Singh's, but I would not recommend the audio version to anybody.
I really enjoyed the complicated and beautiful relationship between Riaz and his mate. I also enjoyed getting to know Hawk and his mate better.
Narration was awful. I considered quitting the audio version and just reading the kindle book, but eventually slogged through the audio because I was driving cross country and had little choice.
The book is worth reading, but not listening to.
I would recommend the book but not so much the audio. The narrator is too monotone and she does not really do the men's voices justice. It is sometimes difficult to listen to the audio because the narrator's voice, there is no life to the character's voices. Her voice grates on the ears and my nerves. She's like one of those automated voice that you hear when you're calling the bank or something and not even that, some of those automated machines have a little more intonation in the voices.
Not that I don't love the story I just wish someone else tell it with more passion and character. It's hard to get into the story when you've got to listen to her voice, sorry angela but I think you need to have voice lessons before you read anymore books. There are other narrators out there that would do a better job than angela. Others like Joyce Bean, Tanya Eby or Susan Erickson , they would have been the better choices.
NOOOOO!!!! I will think twice or three times or four times before I decide to buy another audio book with this narrator reading it.
Yes I loved the story it's just too hard to get into the audio book with such a monotone reader. I recommend someone else re-tell the books that way it would be a pleasure to listen to it over and over again.
I seriously don't think I'll ever have enough of this series. So many of the you really want them to end it's like an over extended tv series but not this one. This book was just as good as the first book and every book there after. If you haven't read this series it's a must.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
The description of the story is a little misleading. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because it sounded like Rias was going to have an affair with a married woman, but I might have been sleep reading when I read it. I automatically hate books that have to do with cheating spouses and try to avoid them. Anyway, the story was much better than anticipated, the story did end differently than I had anticipated. I should know better by now that Nalini Singh will pull through, I’m going to start on the Angel series now.
I am a big fan of this series so I was excited to read the next book. I am sorry to say that this is the first psy-changeling book that I didn't finish. I hated the main characters. The sexual tension that was supposed to be between the two main characters never seemed to gel. Instead, it was irritating. I gave up after Chapter four. Don't waste your credit.
no, I'm hoping she'll go back to the formula that has been so successful.
the hero was a jerk and the female lead was a prickly pear. nothing redeeming to be found here.
