totally its just easy listening easy entertainment good laughs, etc
very funny lines in it
just a nice easy enjoyable listen to get your mind off things
One of my favorites.
It's not actually a strory... it's Joan Rivers mentioning everything she hates, which is hilarious.
I've seen her on TV, of course, but I'd never listened to her reading an audiobook. I love her accent.
You don't need to be a fan of Joan's to enjoy the book, but it's important to know that this is by no means a politically correct essay and might offend some people. Also, you would need to be immersed in pop culture and also be familiar with celebrities from past decades to fully appreciate the humor.
I would recommend it to friends that I know enjoy Joan's comedy.
I wanted it to go on a little longer.
Yes. It's only a few hours long.
The "I Hate" theme became a bit too much hate for me at times, and some things were repetitive. Her style is to not edit herself at all, which can be uproarious, but when she insults a particular person's physical appearance, I felt for the victim.
In a small, peaceful town on the Equator, the sun always sets at 6, and a good audiobook is always the perfect evening companion.
If you dislike Joan Rivers, you'll hate this book. Otherwise, it feels like a romp through a card catalog of her life's work, in which she skewers just about every sacred cow you can imagine, up to and including the abuses of modern technology. It seems rare to hear Joan Rivers without a live audience, but this is an energetic read through a dense thicket of barbed observations that leave no one unscathed. Potty mouth? You bet. On target? Flawlessly.
Very enjoyable! Will listen again.
I went to one of her shows and this book just as good!
"Take it or leave it: Joan Rivers"
I can't think of anyone that would enjoy this.
Something that draws me into the subject, not beats me down.
No one. She is perfect for her book, even though she hated it.
Uhmmm it suplemented her income.
I usually find Joan very funny. This book was mediocre at best.
I would and I did! This book was so funny and so entertaining. I don't know if it's something for everyone to enjoy because of some.of the raw content. But I absolutely found it to be a great listen.
Her delivery is spectacular and you would not get that from reading the book.
Most definitely! But I saved some for later so I could enjoy it another day.
Joan Rivers offered very few engaging stories. While she's know for insulting others (a la Don Rickles), the shots taken at the handicapped and mentally ill were mean and not funny.
There was not much substance to the book. It did not even come across like a well-crafted monologue.
I'm accustomed to -- and I enjoy -- Joan Rivers' spontanity. The book was delivered in a very scripted manner. She did not even sound as if she were enjoying her own performance.
Yes. Not to pick up any other book by Joan Rivers.
