Gillian Flynn is capable of anything. I laughed, cried, sat amazed at my desk and honestly felt cold sweats on a dozen different occasions. I would love a charter one minute and hate them the next. This book has me considering a background check on my wife after 6 years of marriage. Loved and feared it.
This book kept me interested and guessing the whole time. I really didn't feel like I knew for sure what was going to happen even up to the last chapter! One thing to consider is that the psyche of the two characters in the book is very disturbing so if you are squeamish or easily bothered (not by blood and gore but by the darkness inside a person's mind) then this is not the book for you.
Yes. Mesmerizing twists & surprises.
The obvious surprise that she wasn't really "gone" except mentally.
The confusion, the despair, the traps...
The dual narration is very good, helped by the fact that there are a lot of relatively short chapters.
19+ hours sounds steep, but only took me 3 days to finish.
Twists and turns and some suspense. Very clever. It will, I think, make a decent movie that people will talk about, ala Indecent Proposal. Will they keep the same ending? I wonder ....
The twisted human mind
Yes!!! Because all of the twist and turns in the plots and amazing writing beside the perfect narration
Absolutely, i did
The last couple of chapters of the book.
An avid reader who cherishes my time with a good book!
This story is devilishly entertaining. The two voice narration really kept me engaged and drove the plot forward despite characters that were wholly unlikeable in many ways. I loved the way it had me flip-flopping from one side to the next. When I thought I had it figured out, there was another layer of deceit at the hands of a wickedly intelligent and ruthless character. It reads like a very high stakes chess game, with twists and turns that the author crafts with just enough clarity that the reader thinks they see it coming, then they find the curve is much more treacherous then they realized. A great read, strongly recommended.
I would recommend this book to anyone who like true to life kind of stories. it is quick book, easy to follow with some fun twist.
The voices are easy to understand and they do a great job of expressing emotions in their voice to capture your attention and keep you intrigued.
Yes! Towards the end of the book when it all starts tying together I stayed up until 3am listening and cleaning my house.
Just when I thought I had the story figured out, a new twist would blow my mind!
I loved them all.
The ending. I actually loved it.
I love audio books while I knit and garden. Like eating chocolates, you just can't stop!
The length--it dragged on FAR too long
Yes--it was disturbing and very sad
Probably the sister, Go.
No--it dragged on through more and more unbelievable plot twists. I detested both the main characters throughout the long story
The ending was so abrupt and unsatisfying. But I disliked the book so much, I wouldn't try a sequel just to find out what happens next
