It was a good listen, the language was a bit crude but I guess it was needed to portray the characters particular moods each time. A love story gone bad. The readers were exceptionally good! It was a captivating story with twists, however, I didn't like the ending at all.
YES.THIS BOOK HELD MY INTERET FROM BEGINNING TO END. GREAT STORY WITH TWIST AND TURNS.
WATCH YOUR BACK
This is one of my all time favorites. What a great and creative book. Be kind to your spouse.... Jump in for a great ride.
The reading was decent, I'd give them another shot. I would be VERY cautious about trying another book from Flynn.
Yes--separate voices, seemed well suited to the roles. I felt like Heyborne was weaker at conveying the main character than Whelan.
If you want to come to the foregone conclusion that suburbia and the Midwest are deplorable, then this book will accomplish that for you.
Just couldn't stand the bland, navel-gazing characters. I couldn't care about the story or the conclusion when they were both so unlikable. I hate people like that in real life, so why would I like them in a book? If they want to kill each other off, then so be it.
Engaging story, well written, intersting, rang true with me. However, the male reader really spoiled my listening experience. This is really one of the worst readers I've had the misfurtune to listen to. The female reader is just fine and the difference between them like day and night.
It engaged me
The male reader detracted tremedously from my joy with the story
No. I had to recover from time to time from the male reader
Please choose your narrators wisely!
I felt it had too many, "twists and turns"
Narrator did fine
I heard a lot of hype and expected more.
This book is near the top.
The narration added an extra level of suspense. An A1 job!
Maybe. Depends on how many hours
Maybe. Depends on how many hours.
Good story, but one book too long. The story was not worthy of 19 hours.
Interesting premise, good twists, descriptive narrative but the characters were very one dimensional is some respects. This could be because of the plot and the direction she was taking the reader but I found it hard to get interested. Usually even the most despicable person has a trait you can identify with, feel sympathy toward or minimally like. Maybe it's just me but in this book, I didn't like anyone. Nick, Go and their family, unlikeable. Amy and her parents, unlikeable. Friends, cops, incidental cast, unlikeable. Everyone was self centered, self absorbed, vindictive and moved only in the direction of their own agenda. I purchased three of her books at the same time and this is the first one I've listened to. I hope the others are better.
The is one of the best books I've read. I couldn't put it down! Very clever, suspenseful and whitty. The book is pretty vulgar and shocking at times. Although the book is dark it made me laugh too. I would recommend it for sure! I liked it so much I picked up her next book, " Dark Places " almost immediately after finishing this one!
