Loved listening to the story from both lead character's perspective.
I recently watched the movie and was not disappointed. It did a good job of following the book.
Lots of twists and turns which are a big plus for me. Third book by this author and it won't be my last.
It's too long, but is an interesting book.
The performers were good. It had plenty of tricky plots.
They make it more interesting than it would be if I read it.
When I found out she had set up her disappearance.
Interesting book, but much of it could've been eliminated. I didn't like the Amy character. She was strange from the very beginning of the book. At times, I forwarded through the chapters that she was in because she was annoying.
Narrated by Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne, this book has won several awards and is now a Movie and of course this audiobook.
I will admit I am late to the table with my reading of this book but it was well worth the 19 hours. Nick and Amy are celebrating their five year anniversary. Amy always plans a treasure hunt with riddles that have to do with important events that she remembers from the previous year. Nick, never does well at these hunts because men and women are different and what is monumentally important to one doesn't even register to the other.
This year Amy disappears. A struggle at their home and she is gone. Nick looks for her as the police look at him. This Mystery worries Nick. Where could Amy be? The twists and turns in this book are Hitchcockesque. And the narrators voice Nick and Amy brilliantly. Listen to this audiobook and hear what everyone else is talking about.

if it had never been written
i will never buy any thing else from this author
it was the book not the performances
after the first 20 mins i wanted to turn it off.. but kept thinking it has to get better.... no !!! i think the author is as crazy and disturbed as her story is !!! i will not watch the movie and wonder who in their right mind wanted to make it a movie.
PLOT: DIRTY depressing funny......thriller 5 STAR all the way.
you have to acquire a taste for Gillian Flynn. She takes depressing and warped and makes it funny and entertaining and toss in an excellent mystery and you are addicted. Nick and Amy Dunne are celebrating a 5th Anniversary when Amy "disappears" and all clues point to a killing and missing body. AS the "perfect marriage" unwinds bit by bit we see it is anything but a "happy" one. ** SPOILER HERE DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW MORE OF THE PLOT** Nick is not the "good husband" everyone thinks he is. The huge cash advances on the credit cards, phone records show a "mystery lover"....blood DNA from Amy has everyone looking in Nick's direction....But Amy is not the "dream wife" ...she has decided Nick has to 'pay' for cheating on her and falling OUT of love with her. Amy clearly has 'major mental issues' but is both methodical enough to come up with a clever PLAN and carry it out. This is excellent. Every character is flawed. it is simply a matter of how the flaws become part of the plot. DEPRESSING yes but the fascination characters and twists keep us glued. 5 STARS all the way. The READERS all are excellent...truly the BEST audible has to offer......and I am off to dowload the next Gillian Flynn audiobook.
Interesting twists with disappointing ending. No payoff.
I don't understand the fuss & great reviews? No more Flynn for me.
Readers read what the writers write. Poor conclusion.
Made one mistake, Won't make another watching it.
Again, awful, disappointing & unsatisfactory anti climax.
I only listen to audio books because I don't have time to read like I would like. The voice of the reader has to sound comfortable and believable...
This Book make you think about who you really are and who you come off being...
I don't think I have hear them before but they were believable as the characters...
When you discover the twist in the story just when you think you know how it is going...
Made me think ~ if being the cool girlfriend or boyfriend is not someone you want to be all of the time. Don't pretend be yourself!!!
My mind is linear, without patience. Who studies the history of yellow? I love a story & wonder who ate the first tomato. I bet it was my
Don't look at me! Impossible to do! So is putting this down.
The missing wife.
Does anger count? Disbelief? Shock? Arousal?
Do not look at this book! (Unless you have time).
No, the suspense is gone.
Given Amazing Amy what she deserved.
Not sure who was who?
Laughed and was shocked throughout. No crying.
Fantastic book and very glad I listened, no desire to see the movie though. I guess not everyone needs the happy ending.
You know that moment in Sixth Sense (spoiler alert) where you find out he is DEAD?! This book feels like that from beginning to the end. Every moment you are going: What?! Are you kidding me?! He/She did what?! It is a fantastic read. BUT, LITTLE BUT.....I felt really let down by the hero(ine) at the end. You just wanted to scream NO into the speakers, slap (it, no pronouns) around and say: You have GOT TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME??!!! It was part of the twist and that is what makes the book good...
