I listened to this during my 18+ hour drive from MN to TX. I hate to be critical because its not like I'm a writer who could have done any better, but for all the hype, it was a bit of a let down. It is definitely not the "page turner" I heard it was, esp the first half, and without giving anything away, I felt an overall sense of "that's it?" when it was finished. Of course there are far worse ways to fill a long drive, maybe you will like it better than I did, but it certainly does not live up to all the hype.
wtf is all that you will say ones you make it to part 2 of the book. not chapter 2 but the second part. you will learn to love and hate and hate most of the people in this book but Go. you will understand when you get to it.
The development of the story and description of the characters
Not what I expected at all. Would have preferred a differnt ending. It was almost like the author got tired and just didn't put the same effort into wrapping it all up.
Nothing is ever as it seems
This story kept unraveling and unraveling with bigger and more surprising circumstances. The ending came quickly but wasn't the ending I was hoping for.
Very superficial and no relationship to the characters of plot.
She was fine.
What a waste of money and my time. I don't get the hype.
I loved the edge-of-my-seat feel the story gave me> I found the switching back and forth of the first person POVs a little confusing at first, but I was quickly sucked into the story and surfing a wave of suspicion that constantly kept me guessing.
Oh my goodness! I was so absorbed in the story and trying to figure out exactly who was guilty of what.
The ending was the worst. The book started out pretty good, then I must admit I got hooked, only to have the ending make me wish I never read it. The end of the book leaves the reader asking, "Wait, what? That's it??"
Such impressive story telling skills. The ability to twist the reader back and forward is excellent. But, for me, the end just left me cold. I can imagine others finding it perfect but not me. Anyway, impossible book to discuss with anyone who hasn't read it without doing harm to the story and the crafting skill is always excellent. Read it and make your own mind up.
I liked the storyline and disliked both characters. Then liked Nicks character. But no one is that brilliant. The ending was horrible and I didn't like it. To bad it is a good storyline. But I've already been through OJ trial. Don't think I'll get anymore of her books.
