My mind is linear, without patience. Who studies the history of yellow? I love a story & wonder who ate the first tomato. I bet it was my
Don't look at me! Impossible to do! So is putting this down.
The missing wife.
Does anger count? Disbelief? Shock? Arousal?
Do not look at this book! (Unless you have time).
No, the suspense is gone.
Given Amazing Amy what she deserved.
Not sure who was who?
Laughed and was shocked throughout. No crying.
Fantastic book and very glad I listened, no desire to see the movie though. I guess not everyone needs the happy ending.
You know that moment in Sixth Sense (spoiler alert) where you find out he is DEAD?! This book feels like that from beginning to the end. Every moment you are going: What?! Are you kidding me?! He/She did what?! It is a fantastic read. BUT, LITTLE BUT.....I felt really let down by the hero(ine) at the end. You just wanted to scream NO into the speakers, slap (it, no pronouns) around and say: You have GOT TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME??!!! It was part of the twist and that is what makes the book good...
Kept me guessing
Just the right tone and nuance
Not really, I needed a break to digest all the interesting details.
3 Words: Sickening Psychotic Cringe
Not sure what other books can compare.
My favorite scene was when Amy has to change her plans after Jeff and Greta's theft.
Not during Part 1, but parts 2 and 3.
I liked hearing both of the main characters' perspectives, and each had a very distinctive style and voice. The timeline was interesting, especially in the beginning with the flashbacks. A few loose ends came to my mind since I was really hoping Dorothy would show up with A's fingerprints on some of the cash bills, or that A would be spotted with D on one of the casino cameras. The conclusion with N's changing perspective and the pregnancy was a little disappointing, but A's last words left me cringing.
One of the best books I have ever listened to. The narrators do a great job. A real "page turner" ( i.e. constantly listened to the book). I would have given it all five stars; however, the end was a surprise and left me wanting more, thus the deduction.
This story was insane.
I haven't listened to their other readings, but I am a little picky about audiobook readers. I've returned a few books because I couldn't stand the readers. This one is perfect, particularly Julia Whelan. She added a light touch to Amy's voice that made her character even more... even more what she is (don't want to spoil).
YES!! I actually wanted to keep driving or doing the dishes!
Maybe the best audiobook I've listened to. The readers really enhanced the story.
Good book that will make you listen to it as much as you can :) Well written story, but ending was not impressive (so many emotions for nothing). It seems that the author decided to keep the door open for a sequel.
I just don't know where to begin with this review. Just listen to it its soooo very good. Then afterwards I went to see the movie and oh my goodness it was just really really really good. If you are on the fence jump off and take the plunge. I thought because it's so long it would get long winded but no I didn't want it to end. The story is crazy the narrators are good as well. Happy reading!!!
This could have been such a terrific book but obvious the author LOVES THE "F","B"& "C" WORDS TOO MUCH....
The story is about a twisted, crazy, weird, twisted (again), perverted, abnormal, sick couple.... AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!!! It's out in theaters now with Ben Affleck starring, I DO like him! I certainly hope it's not rated XXX like this book should be rated.
The narration was very good, the story it's self was deep and was a "page turner".
I knew it wasn't good for me to read after just getting started but the story was so darn good and even though it went against my grain, the vulgarity, I had to see how it would end!
Gotta say, I expected a different ending, I "think", well, that's sorta halfway true. I did and maybe was hoping but kinda knew not going to be? It was a bit of a surprise I suppose, at least a part of it.
All in all, gee, how do I say a good book when I don't want to recommend it because it's so gosh awful vulgar? I don't know... like I said, if you like the "f" "b" and "c" words, you'll love this book, I don't so I didn't... but it sure holds one's interest...
Read at your own risk!!
