"LOVED IT!"
I'd say this is one of the best audio books I've listened to.
I loved all the twists and turns. A mystery all wrapped up in social commentary. Not sure whether nobody wins or if most everybody wins in the end of this book.
This one keeps you on edge until almost the end.
Im a good listener
"90% great"
I hate being one of those people who poop on book endings, but this one is lacking. Any more detail involves spoilers. Still its something I would recommend because the journey to the end is really very good.
"Awesome read, couldn't stop listening!"
This was a great story with supense at every curve and never what you expect to happen.
Every chapter was better than the previous one and the build up to the climax was perfectly executed.
This is my first Julia Whelan book.
I loved this book because I started with liking one character in the beginning and felt sorry for them then changed my mind over and over until the end!
Great book for for mystery buffs.
"So many twists"
The story, the switching back and forth from husband to wife narrating, and the ending.
I have really never read a book like this before

"When bad things happen to bad people"
This audiobook was amazing. I found myself talking about it to anyone that would listen.
It was very true to life and had me asking the same questions I have when real wives "went missing" in the news....what really happened, is she dead, did he kill her, what was going on in their house leading up to this, who is only involved for publicity after the fact?
I love the way the story unfolded. It starts out with Nick but is narrated in a play-by-play sort of way so that you don't get background or his thoughts or anything. Even though it's first-person perspective, I kept getting surprised by things he failed to "mention" in his story.
Then you meet Amy, through her diary, and she is truly amazing but not always in a good way.
I gave it only 4 stars because I thought the very end was less than satisfactory after building up to it all those hours.
"Definitely not your typical love story"
So far one of my favorites. The narrators did an incredible job. I loved how the author really made you feel sorry for diary Amy and could then make you despise psycho bitch Amy.
Absolutely! But if I tell too much of why I enjoyed the plot so much, it will give away the story.
Julia does a wonderful job capturing Amy's "personalities".
"Entertaining and complex"
I really enjoyed this dark novel. It has great twists and turns and I won't say more about that so I don't ruin it for you. The narration was fine, but not amazing. Neither voice was annoying, at least to me.
"Wow."
I have recommended this audiobook to a friend. The narration is wonderful--I have not been able to listen to many books because the narration was so horrible, that is not true in this case.
The story is incredible and unpredictable. I can usually guess most endings in the first half of the book--not this one. It was a great ride!
The ending. It just kept you guessing. When you had figured everything out--another twist was thrown at you.
Just overall good narration. I really enjoy "reading" my books while I'm doing something else and a bad narration is the kiss of death--I have turned off a audiobook and didn't listen to it again because of bad narration.
Yes. Hated to turn it off.
"Sold Out Author"
No. It's sad to see an author who feels they have to sell out to the "F" word in order to move copies. What could have been interesting characters were unfortunately completely dumbed down, the author only able to express the anger, hurt or confusion of every character, male or female, by just having them repeatedly using the F word,or having the men call the women B's through clenched angry teeth. The ending is very poor also, so overall it was pretty painful making it through this muddled and slow moving muck.
No
The narrators did a good job.
The author
"What an Author!"
This was my first Gillian Flynn book. Wow! I was hooked from the get-go and totally satisfied with the wrap up. The story get me guessing, and I like that.
