The book should have been half as long. I could hardly wait to finish. I was surprised at the end - but in a "that's it?" kinda way.
The narration was good. I liked having two narrators - one for Amy and one for her husband.
Perhaps an abridged version of the book would be better. It was just too long and I was constantly chomping on the bit for the story to move on.
Speed it up, spped it up a lot, make a better ending. Or even better write a better book
No plans what so ever to read anything from Gillian Flynn
To much of the same, all over, and over and over........ Never getting to the point, and the point was cruel ok, but it came to late
Amy's mother and father
Sometimes you buy the wrong book, it is things that happens. A lot of other really good writers to listen to. Why spend time on something you don't like
It is a very interesting book. Really thought out and filled with surprises. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the book as I found it completely disturbing. This is the most cynical view of a relationship I have ever heard, and it was honestly was scary. Scary in a evaluate every relationship you ever had, and not Friday the 13th kind of way. I stopped listening after I realized I didn't have anyone to root for, and my face was frozen with a look of disgust and disbelief on the drive home at the twisted nature of these characters. Not for everyone.
The narrators did an excellent job! That was one of the very few high points. They certainly brought authenticity to the characters.
Yes, I was very unsettled about how the book ended. No justice or was their justice???
I read the reviews of this book and a lot of people said how it was very dark. This built up my expectations too much so that I was actually disappointed with the story. It is not that dark. Maybe it will be for you but maybe not. I am not sorry that I purchased it but I wish I did not have any preconceptions before I started. Hope you enjoy if you decide to purchase.
