The first part made me curious - the author did a good job at hinting something was off. But the second half just felt unrealistic and dragged out.
I was curious to get to he end but was not enjoying the writing at that point. Just wanted to get it over with.
good job on narriation
not for me but yes for people who enjoyed it more
Love to get lost in a book, love to read and love to be read to...
A waste of time. The book is well written and has a few twists but there are no redeeming characters in the whole story. I feel there is good in most people, these people all suck!
Watched the movie first, this just delved deeper into Amy and Nick. This book was superbly written, the narration worked so well with both perspectives- now to find more by Flynn!
Truly a study into a dysfunctional marriage. Nick naïve and gullible and Amy definitely a psychopathic bitch. Amy is always at least 10 steps ahead of Nick. Which he feels he's betrayed her and doesn't treat her the way she deserves she set him up to make him look like he killed her. The cat and mouse game between Nick and Amy is the least of it. Is the cat mouse game she's played with so many people before Nick. It's how she think she's one in the end but somehow you get the feeling that Nick will come out on top but that's with the book ends. And extremely could read great narration good story. The movie while very good did not do this book justice. You get such a deeper look inside the heads of Nick and Amy. Well worth the credit you spend to get this book.
It's difficult not to love the composition of the story. You really get to know the depth of each character involved. The challenge is you pretty much feel awful the whole time the story is developing.
There are many insights into human nature that are revealed that one just doesn't want to admit, but which are found described here in terrible, unmitigated detail.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, i've never really appreciated profanity when it is so thoroughly imbued in the writing or speech of a person. When it is occasionally peppered in to a bland dish, it may add a needed kick, but is overwhelming when it is overdone and unnecessary. Arguably, it distracted from the performance here; at least for me.
Overall, pretty well done.
Yes. Kept me on the edge of my seat!
Great book. I've head some people say they didn't like the ending, or they were thinking/hoping it would have ended a different way but I thought the ending was perfect....eerie and spooky!
