Read, Read, Read the book...
Admittedly, the story was intriguing in that I was curious how it would end. I thought the storyline was predictable once you understand Amy is a psychopath. I wanted to read it to see what all the hub bub was about. Disappointing when I could have read a better story.
I am not squeamish yet I found the profuse sexually graphic totality of the book to be over the top profuse. Disturbingly so. I would not recommend the book.
I'm not a mystery person, but after the seventh recommendation I had to read it. I'm glad I did. NOT your run of the mill mystery.
This was my first audio book, and it was great!
the unexpected twists & turns were really great.
I laughed a lot which seems weird for a crazy story. I think the narrators made it better somehow.
Great story. Character development was done in a very interesting way. The format of the read was different than anything I have read or listened to in the past. I thought the first 45 minutes of the book were a little slow, but after that I found myself in my idling truck for an hour after I had parked just to keep listening.
This book ranks in the top 25% of books I've listened to.
Very inventive writing. Like the characters, the author had to think many steps ahead to make the whole story work.
It's hard to say without giving away plot twists.
No, but I was intrigued by the story enough to not want to put it down.
I have mixed feeling about the vague ending. Some part of me wants closure, but another part of me is left to imagine the twisted future for the characters.
I love to read, fly and play tennis. I always have a book and an audible book going at the same time. I'm a mystery/thriller junky.
It's difficult to describe what I mean by hate except the entire concept made me ill. The performance was great and the story as a story was perfect just like Amy. This had to have been really hard to figure out when Gillian Flynn wrote it. The plot is so twisted, so devious, so heart wrenching. I never like to watch movies of books I have read. I like my visions & imagination better than any movie producer but I had to watch this movie or I wouldn't have been able to finish the book. I had to know the ending before I got that far. I was torn and sickened by the lowdown, conniving Amy. I hope there never is or that I never meet a true life person like her. Steven James with his Agent Patrick Bowers "chess" series has some of the worst criminals you could ever imagine and they don't disgust me as much as Amy. In fact, I really like that series. I guess my mind can deal with blatant, terrible, sick villains but not scheming, lying creeps who get away with it.
