I have been a dedicated fan of Hamiltons for the past 4 yr. But I have admit this book feels like she just redid or reissued the same books from the past there was very little new in the story.
The story was just not there.
Yes she always does a great job
It's kind of in the middle of all the books in the series...it's ok, but not spectacular.
Anita Blake, as always
She did great as always!
Unfortunately, no. I was fine splitting it up.
This was more of a whodunit than the other books have been, and didn't focus as much on Anita and the others as it did the mystery, which just isn't my bag. I don't care for mysteries much, so this was just so-so for me.
Same old same old from Anita. It feels like Hamilton took a middle school creative writing class and someone told her to step up the number of adjectives she uses. There is visual imagery and then there is just space filler.
Probably. I keep thinking there will be a conclusion of some sort and i've made it this far
Really really like Kimberly Alexis - she is why i listen instead of read the books. Started to read this one and couldn't get far. thought if i listened then it would be better. only marginally better no fault of the narrator.
I am finding it hard to wallow through all of the descriptive language Hamilton uses. It really doesn't add to the story anymore since it is the same descriptions used for the last upteen books and in may cases the same as the paragraph before. Even the sex is boring - I am metaphysically and in reality bored.
Love the Anita Blake Series. The Reader gave the southern Micah a weird accent, that was very difficult to ignore and kind of ruined the book for me.
Kiss of Death had a potential for being a good story, except sadly Hamilton spent most of the book on Anita's sexcapades rather than actually telling a story. It starts with a plot and ends finishing the plot but over half of the book, the middle, is just one big sex scene. I understand what she's going for with character development and ,SPOILER, Anita begining to doubt if she can still be in law enforcement, but even that is part of end of the book.
I believe this will be my last Anita Blake book
not really the themes are just rehashed versions of pervious books without anything new happening.
Its time for Anita to die or for her necromancy to come back to the forefront of the storyline and her sexual relationships to take a step back.
I have enjoyed all the books in the Anita Blake series. This one however, didn't really do it for me. The story never seemed to develop into anything. This is a book about her
relationships with some of the men in her life... its almost like someone else wrote the book. You know, it felt like a "filler"....a quick book between books with some real substance. If so, perhaps the next one will be another thrill ride. I hope so.
I like this series but this book is not worth two credits.
All this issues with couple problems. Who cares if the cops are divorced or not should not be part of the story line.
I have listened to this book 3 times so far and will do so again. I love the series, and the speaker is wonderful!
All the characters.
When things are good don't poke at them! You may not like what falls out!
DISAPPOINTED/// BULLET BOOK 19 WAS DISAPPOINTING UNFORTUNATELY THIS ONE WAS WORST. IT WAS A WASTE OF MY CREDIT ! KISS THE DEAD WAS DISAPPOINTING.
to have bought a different book
Relied less on sex and actually have written a story.
