This was the first audiobook I have ordered on Audible. It was truly an amazing experience. Credit definitely goes to Gillian for writing this book, whilst the narrators have done a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.
"Good book, well read"
Sorry and readers were very good, downside was the many long silent pauses in the middle of chapters.
"An intriguing tale."
I read the reviews before buying this audiobook and I have to agree with many reviewers. Takes the listener in a completely different direction then pulls you back to a gripping, well woven plot. The end is a total let down and doesn't really stack up to a believable end.
"Could not put this one down."
The story is gripping throughout. An exceptionally good read and an eye opener. cleverly assembled .
"Enthralling from start to finish"
Wondered how I would listen for 19 hrs or so, but the plot, language and the vocal dexterity of the two narrators made it virtually compulsive listening.
This was my first audio book and I loved it. It took me to places I'd forgotten, since I'd graduated uni I've not had the time to read a book and this is an amazing compromise.
Enjoyed it thoroughly. Great voice performances, particularly Julia Whelan.
Rattled through it quite quickly. Great characters giving an interesting twist to an old story
"Clever, enjoyable and different"
The development of the characters and the fact that both people are very unlikeable one just more so than the other.
Be careful who you love
"kept me guessing"
Really liked it. Liked the twists and the different voices for different characters in story.
I'd seen the film and decided I'd listen to this during long work hours (down time). At first the reading put me off slightly, but they quickly adopted each character. The book itself is intense, and keeps you wishing it won't end! I won't say too much, but even if you've seen the film, it's still a great read/listen and shocking.
