"A bit predictable but well written and addictive."
Definitely would recommend this book. It's well written and interesting despite being a little predictable and far fetched in places.
"A bit up and down"
I have to say I read the reviews and the one thing that kept repeating is that you have to keep going and it gets better which is true. However in my opinion it takes a very long time to get to the interesting bits and then does off slowly at the end so the only way I can describe this is by using a sound ... Meh. I neither loved it or hated it
The readers were also not my cup of tea which probably didn't help but this again is a personal opinion and I do know so many people who have enjoyed it. I think this is definitely a book and audiobook which will divide opinion
I thought that this would be a murder mystery. Instead it turns out to be the story of two people who despise each other. Game playing, hell bent on destroying the other,. 7 hours in the swearing is non-stop. I gave up and have deleted it.
"Poor ending, great narrators"
The storyline could have developed into so much more with a much more satisfying ending but it just ended lazily, almost as bad an ending as 'and then I woke up and it was all a dream'
Narrators where spot in, absolutely brilliant.
Such a shame about the ending
Awesome book with great readers . The movie is so true to it too which makes the read even better as you can really visualise the characters . Can't wait to read her other books .
"Great story, shame about the ending!"
Takes a while to get going but eventually the story hooks you in. I have to say neither of the two central characters are particularly likeable and I felt annoyed at the injustice of the ending. But overall it's an enjoyable book if you like mysteries.
The performances were irritating at first but you get used to their tone and style - not the best but not the worst.
"Shocking twists keep you guessing right to the end"
The story kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through as the balance of power changed. Neither of the two main characters is particularly likeable, but you end up rooting for one, then the other as the story progresses.
The readers were just right for the narration, although sometimes the American pronunciation grated n these English ears. I guess that works both ways, though.
"Gripping from the start"
Fantastic and interesting character development. By no means predictable.
Genuinely enjoyed this from start to finish. I can't decide which of the characters I despise the most!
This was the first audiobook I've read/listened to and I enjoyed listening to the story en route to work and reading the kindle book in the evenings.
"not sure I believe that's how people act."
the author didn't do a great job in convincing me that's how real people would act in that situation.
