Mr. Goff uses stories from his life and the bible to illustrate a path the avoids the many negatives of modern religion and 'religious people' these days. My teenage daughter and I listened to it together on a car trip. I surprised her with it; she wasn't pleased. However, she liked it so much she went out and bought the book to discuss with her friends (I was pleasantly astounded). I typically can't abide the books found classified in the religion/christianity category these days, but this book is refreshing in its lack of dogma and in its surplus of inspiring ways to live your life to the fullest and in accord with the teachings of Jesus (not any church version of him, but the historical version) without annoying your friends and family and colleagues.
I had heard that this book would change my life, but I didn't believe it until I read it. Goff's stories encourage the reader to live on whims without social restrictions on love and humanity.
This book is narrated by the exuberant author who probably talks with his hands, so there were a handful of times I had to listen twice, but otherwise the narration is also good.
Bob Goff is one of the best story tellers I've ever heard or read. He is engaging and his stories have quiet an impact. If you want to love people in a deeper, more meaningful way--this book will challenge you to DO it! Because, love DOES!
Bob's humor and use of words. He is brilliant!
I laughed, I cried...I couldn't wait to listen to the next chapter!
I love listening to books actually read by the author and this one is no exception. Bob Goff lived the stories he shares and those experiences are fully conveyed with an inherent passion for life and the opportunities to live love.
I love that Bob doesn't seem to ever think that anything is impossible. There's a faith and trust that in living life, and making decisions, things will somehow work out. It's less about the destination and all about the journey.
I'm still amazed at the story about his kids writing to world leaders and then actually being invited to come meet them. And then having one of those same leaders come visit them at their house. Crazy!! Who does that and why can't we all live with a little more reckless abandon. Truly inspirational.
I don't normally "listen" to books in one sitting since I listen while working out or commuting. But when I sit to read, which is not as often as I would like, this is a book that I could see reading cover-to-cover just because I was anxious to see what crazy stunt Bob was going to pull next.
If you're in need of some inspiration and a reminder that life is what you make it, read this book. Better yet, read it and then go do. Love Does.
This book is life changing. Our family has already enacted the verb of Love. When we question how we should help others, the statement "Love Does" is always said by someone.
Bob is an inspiration to everyone. If we can only show 1/100th of the Love Bob shows, the world would be a dramatically better place to live. His energy is infectious!
I always love it when the author is engaging enough to narrate their own book. Bob Goff does an amazing job. Hearing it in first person is the only way to get this book!
Yes, the author reads it with his emphases.
None like it!

Listened to the book twice!
Through amazing, unique, inspirational and emotionally gripping life stories he shares with you the lessons about love he learns from it all.
When he helped sneak his dying friend out of the hospital to surprise his family on vacation, a couple days before he dies.
When his kids travel the world to ask world leaders questions, and invite them to a sleepover at their house
This audiobook will inspire your wild, adventurous side, and passion for God and others, to work itself into your everyday life. Bob Goff tells stories of his own experiences living life on the edge in an everyday kind of way, while welcoming you into his reflections on God and His boundless, bold, abundant love. He reads about his life with authenticity and makes the listener understand that living a life of love [for God and others] requires boldness, but is fully attainable for those of us who are "typical" or "regular" people.
Bob Goff lives an extraordinary life and speaks about it like "it's just that way it is."
I enjoyed listening to a chapter at a time, and then allowing myself the time and energy to ponder the things he shared.
