This book is so corny I couldn't even finish it. The dialogue is childish, the characters are insipid, and the pace is slow. Overall, tedious!
Just laden with dramatic expressions of love and adoration. These people have little to talk about other than finding new vocabulary to express even more love. A little overdone to say the least but good enough that I wanted to find out the absurdly & overly sweet ending. "Oh Julian", says Kate. "Oh Kate", says Julian. "Tell me you love me again, and again and again." Come. On.
too much gloop and little minx expressions.... hard to believe... ending got better than middle and beginning
yes without the treacle
This story is missing a good editor. I found myself bored and wanting it to be over to spare the drawn out story.
The lead female character was not likable and the story never really felt tied together, too many failed plots.
The Narrator was great with what she had to work with.
There is too much that should have been edited out but mainly all the time in country.
I had to roll my eyes - sweet talking Julian worshipping Kate. Kate worshipping Julian. Enough already. Time travel made it interesting. It was my first book of Ms. Williams and probably the last.
Very enjoyable book, but the male voices were off-putting. Why can't there he male and female narrators?
The narrator was fine.
The author needs to learn to write better. Honestly. Way more description than is necessary and there's a lot of "he said" and then "I said" and "he said", etc. The story also starts in the past (the preface) without real indication of how she got there, and then each chapter switched from past to present. It just feels like the author couldn't decide what era she wanted the story set in, so she chose to incorporate both. I will admit that I have not finished the book, and I'm not entirely sure I want to. The only reason I started to read this is because it's the book that was selected for this month in my book club. I'm glad I used my credit instead of actually paying for this, but even then I'm not sure it was worth my precious credit. Essentially, it comes down to really bad writing and a boring plot. It's basically Fifty Shades of Grey without the kinky stuff. I really was disappointed in the lack of lead in with the romance. They went from instant attraction to the I'm-so-in-love-with-you-that-i-never-want-to-let-you-go moment. There was no build up to it, which takes all the fun out of reading a romance, in my opinion.
I don't know. I didn't have an issue with the narrator so much as I did with the book.
Mom of 3 and a book lover.
I have enjoyed this audiobook so much, there is time travelling, romance, and most of all adventure. Yes that is makes my curiousity peak along the story. Salute for the author and narrator, they're so awesome.
