Yes, very informative on Obama. Issues covered in this book needed to be brought to the attention of the American people. Alarming how a President of this country is allowed to get away with what he does.
I guess it goes without saying that this book does not offer a balanced perspective. But the level of animus and hatred that oozes out of every paragraph is absurd. In the authors desperation to find stuff to complain about, he spends half the book raging not against Barack but rather against Michelle Obama, painting her as some sort of evil puppet master. Most of his evidence is in the form of “He said, she said” White House gossip, such as what Bill Clinton was overheard saying to Hillary at a White House dinner. Apparently Bill told Hillary that Obama was an Amateur, and that Hillary should run as the Democratic Nominee in 2012. This supposed view of Bill Clinton’s is the foundation of the whole book, hence the title “The Amateur.” But this little tidbit of gossip was very clearly debunked at the Democratic National Convention when Bill Clinton gave the most rousing and full-hearted support behind Barack of any speaker by a factor of four.
The Amateur presents a portrait of the current president that cuts through the hype and glitter of the 2008 campaign. It gives the reader great insight into Obama's personality and performance as commander and chief, his true political motivations, and the people around him who help define his ideaology in the political landscape of Washington D.C.
I think Bill Clinton and his appraisal of Obama is the key to the power of this book. His political evaluation, hopes for Hillary's presidential bid in 2016, and his exclamation that actually provided the title for this powerful book by Mr. Klein.
Very compatible with the moving dialogue of this book.
The one book about Obama's presidency that every american should read!
Very enjoyable and obviously well researched and written. I will now certainly aquire more of Ed Klein's works.

The point of this book is to show how those who have worked with Obama think of him and place the Obama administration in context of experience needed to do the job of President of United States. Listen and form your own opinion of the value of the book. Great Listen.
# 1 right behind Tim russet. Don't remember the name of the book but Tim narrated it himself and it was a really good listen. About his life with his father and his career on TV.
The whole book it was an eye opener. Every chapter had a memorable moment. I keep listening to it over and over.
No this is the first.
This book is a must read or listen to all Americans. John McClain does a very good job reading.
This was probably one of the best books I've listened to on audible. There were some parts that just made my jaw drop, and some parts made me laugh really hard. Overall, it confirmed what I knew about President Obama for a long time: that President Obama is an incompetent, arrogant, megalomaniac, who will do anything to cling to power.
Michelle Obama is a self-absorbed, racist, who makes Hillary Clinton look like Princess Diana. It almost seems like Michelle has the President's testicles in her purse, because President Obama is so darned weak.
Barack Obama is simply evil, unprepared, and destroying this country. He is not only dividing this country, but he is also dividing the Democrat party - a once great party - that I used to be a loyal member of. If someone listens to this book, and still votes for Obama in November 2012, you are either two things: really dumb, or you have some kind of gain to make from another four years of this Manchurian candidate.
depends on the topic. this book was just boring.
he was pretty monotonous. probably not.
disappointment. it wasn't what i was expecting. i didn't really care for any of the anectdotes/information they put forth. not my cup of tea.
I don't understand why this book got such rave reviews. It sounded like it was right up my alley, but it was really just a bunch of boring anectdotes and 'insider' information. I have little to no interest in anything this book put forth...although i couldn't finish it. I got about half way through and listening to it started to feel like a chore. Perhaps it was the monotonous narration. I was expecting it to be more policy oriented and how Obama's decisions have exacerbated our problems. Instead i got hours of stuff about valarie jarret and michelle obama. Most of what was put forth i sort of intuitively knew. I just couldn't make myself care about this material.

Well worth the read if you want to know why our country is in such trouble right now. With leaders like Barak, who needs enemies.
Obama's inexperience and the negative impact on US democracy/economy is uncovered. His reliance on close confidant, Valerie Jarret (sp) and Michelle Obama for policy decisions vs experts on his staff has created a riff within the administration as Obama continues to ignore the recommendations of his staff. Even the Clintons are plotting his political demise because of his amateurist form of leadership (or lack of). A must read for those who are considering supporting Obama in 2012. Even his most supportive financial backers in 2008 are abandoning him in droves. The author , Ed Klein, exposes the serious problems faced by this president in gaining support for another 4 years in office and the cosequences of another Obama victory.
No, I don't think I would. I'm no fan of Obama, but this book was too much of a one-sided hatchet job even for me.
I don't know.
The tone of voice was annoying. Every sentence was read as if it was the most damaging smoking gun anyone ever discovered about any president. One attack followed by another attack followed by another attack... just present the information.
