Not much to take away as an actionable idea from this book. The content is simply a bunch of tales of people that started a company, very little insight into how the company was started.
The narrator for me lacked enthusiasm at times, for a book that is supposed to change lives I had expected more. They probably should have used James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman they seem to narrate everything and tell one heck of a story lol
This is a well written book full of good advice and easy to read. Highly recommended. The main point is to do what you love while helping others. Enough said.
I would, and I have. First, there's a lot of information to take in. Second, it's highly motivational. This book makes you feel like you're completely capable of getting your business started with what you have now.
The ranch owners. The lesson from that section, to find the emotional value behind your offering, and not just the literal offering, is a powerful message.
This question is the main reason I'm writing this review. I love this book, but the narration is horribly disappointing. Another review described it as "robotic," which is dead-on. The narrator regularly pauses, and not in a charming, Kirk-like fashion. It's as though he's having to double check pronunciations of names and words as he reads. It's really distracting.I powered through it multiple times, and love the book anyway. I can only listen to books now, though, I don't have time to read - otherwise I would have switched to the print version. I dearly hope they get a new narrator for a different version, and I don't want to listen to anything by this narrator again.
You can take action on your dreams, right now, with what you already have.

It contains no fancy BS Apple or CocaCola stories. It talks about real small businesses - their journeys, their wins and fails; about simple people with no special skill or talent who have done it - who REALLY HAVE start-up business out of their room/basement - so why shouldn't you?!
all it did - was make me go out and DO what I was supposed to, not plainly ponder on thought about what life would be like if I wasn't tied to someone else's business in 9am-5pm office gig, but my own!
