Being an entrepreneur myself I really got a lot out of this book. I liked that there was a great deal of research and case studies that were used to create the material for this book. It was well read and engaging, would definitely read/ listen to more from this author.
Both practical and engaging, with well researched ideas and plenty of stories, I found this book to be very helpful. The author has collected excellent stories from folks across the world who have started up businesses of their own. Each gives more light to the process, and in the end, the book becomes not only inspiring but practical as well.
Having gone to Chris's book signing tour in Chicago made my connection to his book extra special. Especially after seeing so many enthusiasts attend who want to live life in their own terms. I think this book is witness to a major change in the way we do business.
A life fully lived
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to create a life for themselves in their own terms. There are great examples of how people started a business with little or no money, just using their enthusiasm, creativity and seizing opportunities as they appered. I think knowing it worked for others (and how it happened) really helps in going after what you love.
I enjoyed listening to the stories of the different micro-entrepreneurs. Its always interesting hearing about other people's lives!
Good on getting you off your behind and getting into action with concise plans and motivating case studies.
got a $100 - start a business
Yes, its aninteresting book with a lot of good information on business.
The whole book was moving
The author is obviously passionate about his content, but the narrator reads in a slow monotone that sucks the life out of the written words. I wish I had purchased the book in this case, rather than the audio.
This book was great. At this point in time, my wife and I have only been out of college for a few years. Despite moderate success in business and in practicing law, we have become victims to the "Quarter Life Crisis" (QLC) that so many generation Y'ers talk about. Currently, we are reading and searching our way into a happier place. Listening to this book has changed our dialogue concerning "how, what, when, and why."
What made listening to this book so enjoyable was the fact that I could identify with so many of these stories. It is a great book to read if you are someone who is not money motivated, but rather motivated by creating a comfortable and enjoyable life.
It's ability to relate to everyday people with concrete real world examples, and the ease in which you can implement these ideas... or at least the thought process behind each idea.
Yes, it provides many great ideas and inspiring examples of real people taking control of their lives and income.
Along the same lines as The 4 Hour Workweek, this book has given me a number of new ideas that I have already begun testing and trying to figure out how to implement. I enjoyed the simple strsightforward presentation of the stories, and clear actionable steps provided.
Small businnes stories
The book is divided into different case studies of small businesses where the owners converted their hobbies into a business. I found the stories insightful.
